U`ll need to enter the bios, by either pressing del or F2 (even F12 - it`ll say what to press to enter "setup" during the powering on process).
Then u have to navigate to a menu that`ll have something like "on board devices" or similar as it`s heading. (hard to say as bios menus differ a fair bit)
Once u`ve found where the onboard gfx area is, it`ll have something changeable called something like "shared memory", of which there will be a number of selections to cycle through. Invariably they`ll go 32/64/128/256/UMAX - it`s very easy to select 256, but remember whatever u select here will takeaway from the laptop`s overall resources. I *think* UMAX is something like "take as much as u can" - I wouldn`t swear to it tho.
In u`r case with 512m in the laptop, I wouldn`t stray from 64/128, cos even 128 is going to take u`r total memory down a bit. Upgrading the laptop`s memory will help this of course. Problem here being laptops usually have 2 slots for memstrips, and if u have 512 they mostly use 2x256. So if u want to upgrade, the best case will lead u having to get 2 new strips.
