GPU shroud

What Feronix said... the branding won't bother me as much though, since it will be facing down and not really show. In comparison to the entire cooler (grey) itself though.

***UPDATE TO THE POST/THREAD***

So now that I've gotten a shroud for it... now I'm just wondering something else and I know it's quite early to tell, but asking anyway.

I saw Asperatis's build log "Nyssa" and noticed this backplate:

attachment.php

And I was wondering if you know if there will be any backplates like this for the 980Ti?, as last I checked it doesn't come with a backplate (reference cooler that is)?...

Its only compatible with EK blocks I think since one or two screws are screwed in from the other side as well as 4 that screw into the backplate. I suppose its possible, but you need to remove screws used in the reference cooler and I dont think thats a good idea.

Yeah, true that and fair and good point :)

I was just wondering if there's any backplates in general for a 980Ti?...

As if I recall correctly Dice wanted or got a backplate and just the backplate for his Titan X. Or I'm just mistaken here hehe :p

Not to be rude, but I think you are being silly in getting a titan cooler with the Titan logo to put on a 980Ti card. Plastidip will give just as good a result, and keep your resell value since you can remove the colouring.

No worries mate. Everyone is entitled to their taste and opinion :)

Due to my experiences with PlastiDip, I'm not going with that, especially on a £500 card.

A shroud will be much easier... and you'll have to lay the computer down in order to see that Titan logo. And I have mine standing 24/7 anyway so :)

This is an even more awkward way to do things and voids the warranty as well. If you buy a Ti from a couple of companies, painting the cooler/removing the cooler doesn't really void the warranty either.

Maybe that is... but still though :)

sorry if that seems mean but I'd laugh if you'd break your card while swapping the shroud
I think it's all fine and dandy that you don't want to possibly ruin a 500bucks card.

Unless you do what Rambo did with his Windforce cooler  that was a plasti-dip nightmare   a perfect example of what not to do.

Many will remember but he decided to paint his windforce shroud white, which in the end looked like he'd thrown porridge at it from the opposite side of the room. I'm trying to find a picture.

he did use normal paint instead of plasti dip, he even used a brush and not a spray can....

If memory serves me correct he sprayed it then tried spreading it with a brush. I know he applied multiple coats which just got worse and worse.
