Hey guys,

Just a though/question here... but does a Titan X shroud fit on an reference 980Ti?...

Regards,
Chrazey

Heres the PCB, for some reason the Core on the Titan X, looks like its in a different position, might just be the photo

Yeah, if you look at the placement of the screwholes vs memory chips it seems pretty dead on?

Exactly my thought, I just basically looked at the screws... but what do I know, perhaps the memory chips are important too?. For the silicon/pads/thermal thingys to cool the memory chips as well on the shroud?...

I actually just looked at JayzTwoCents video of the 980Ti and he said that the Titan X and 980Ti's PCB is exactly identical. So might be able to get hold of an TX shroud (if someone is watercooling theirs and is willing to let it off) and put it on my 980Ti.

Also, anyone know why my Chrome says "opps, something Went wrong when viewing this page" when I open this thread and only this thread is seems like?...

Actually Writing this reply on Internet Explorer lol.

why would you want a TX cooler? they are exactly the same.

Cause it's all black and you don't loose warranty. But yes, it will have the wrong branding on it.

What Feronix said... the branding won't bother me as much though, since it will be facing down and not really show. In comparison to the entire cooler (grey) itself though.

***UPDATE TO THE POST/THREAD***

So now that I've gotten a shroud for it... now I'm just wondering something else and I know it's quite early to tell, but asking anyway.

I saw Asperatis's build log "Nyssa" and noticed this backplate:

attachment.php

And I was wondering if you know if there will be any backplates like this for the 980Ti?, as last I checked it doesn't come with a backplate (reference cooler that is)?...

That's an EKWB backplate that comes with the water blocks.

You could have a look at Coldzero though, or make your own :)

Yah I know that and was unsure wether they only came with the waterblocks or were actually sold seperately.

Coldzero, will check that out, thanks. Not sure about the make your own though :p

Those backplates are sold separately, but they're meant to be used with the blocks though. Coldzero does some fine work, I got a backplate from them for my xonar phoebus, and I must say it's one sexy thing

About the warranty, is it not voided from the moment you remove the stock cooler? There's a sticker on one of the 4 screws around the gpu dye which presumably voids warranty if broken. I guess for evga it doesn't matter as long as you mount/ship the stock cooler when rma'ing. Asus, however.. Well you know..

Well that looks quite sexy I must say ;)

And lol on that part... I'm not sure wether to go ASUS or EVGA on the 980Ti to be honest here. The thing with EVGA is this:

I don't see the point tbh. It's like having a Ferrari with an Escort engine.

I would Corsair AIO. I've decided to AIO the Titan Black going in the Alienware :)
