GPU power usage 53% @ 'idle'

Is there a program that will tell me exactly what is using anything of/on my graphics card?

Lately my gpu TDP seems to hover around 52-53%, 62C, 1700RPM, 6% gpu usage and 875Mhz. While my computer is not doing anything at all, in essence it should be idling.

I know I don't have any miners etc. running, and nothing else that runs by default should require that much power usage. As it stands my computers Idle usage went from about 80 Watt to somewhere arround 220 Watt in the last couple of days, with just windows + anti virus and 3 tab in chrome open (none of them video's and the usage doesn't change while closing chrome completely).

Changing the power plan does not make a difference, the gpu in question is a GTX 780 TI with the latest driver installed (non beta)

Any insight is appreciated.

Mining malware?

Turn off hardware accel in settings for Chrome (Advance tab)

DDU the drivers and do a clean install of drivers.

Clean install of windows.

Best I could come up with, as I really should be asleep :)

Oh ye roll back drivers to last version?

Was sleepy myself and about to give up when on a whim I decided to check if shadow play was enabled. which turns out was the cause... There was nothing to be record. Desktop recording was off as well so that leaves the question why should it need that much when nothing is happening? Kind of bothersome to turn it on just for a game and then off again to reduce needles power consumption...

Oh well guess I won't be using that anymore... shame I liked the ability to record the last 10 min of gamepplay... at least I found the problem after 1 week worth of on and of checking what it could be As even a restart or cold boot didn't fix it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did make sure that I had no malware miners etc running and closing chrome completely didn't change anything either.

An update did resolve it, strange I remember having this issue for a while, and could've sworn I had updated before oh well.

Now I can go back to leaving my computer on most of the day doing various things without adding extra power usage
