For what its worth i just got my rig setup and if its gaming performance you are after ive been playing bf3 with everything on ultra full res and it runs like a dream.

This is a i7 2600k and 2x GTX 570s

It really does perform well.

Also i saw in another thread you were asking but i have 16gb of the gskill sniper ram and it fits easily under a noctua if you were air cooling.

we like to see anyones rig. its not what the specs are, it all depends on ppl's budgets, we just like to see and comment on how to improve. plus with what it sounds like ur building (with dual 580's or triple 6970's) ur rig is gonna be one of the really high preforming ones.

I am having problems with micro stutter quit a bit. Need to get some searchin' done to fix some bad fps in shift 2 as well. I get like 19fps... Just dumb problems that you get with dual cards.

Hi. Can you run just 1 590 processor, because some games don't work with SLi, like Settlers 7. I disable SLi to play it, contacted Ubi, they said no plans to make it SLi compatable and I hope they do it because it needs it.

I mean disable SLi and run just 1 GF110 processor from 1 GTX590 card?

the only manu that I know of that allows you to do anything to the card is EVGA and they dont make rubbish

Are you planning to reveal the proposed resolution here? How are we supposed to help, if we don't know the main purpose of the build? If you NEED two GPU's and plan to play on 1920 x 1200 or 2560 x 1600, you can as well just get two 570's. If you want to go 3D surround with all the eye candy, you will need a LOT of graphics memory, as reviewed here. I am having the same dillema now, although I would only get Nvidia, for some reason.....

then the best choice you have is to get 2 gtx 580 3gb versions and u'll be happy.

btw that would be my dream screen(s)

yeah if I was to run 3 montors I'd go with dual 3Gb versions of the 580 or dual 2,5Gb versions of the 570
