D'ya reckon I would have room for a Swiftech MCW-50-T and water system in the LianLi65 case? I am never gonna be happy with stock cooling the graphics card!

is this what you have????

If you mean what Ive listed, yep - but the screwdriver is yet to be used til the GT arrives - any excuse!!

D'ya have any comments about the rig or gpu cooling?

OK..

this is what I have

120.2 RAD

Hydor L30 Pump

UV Blue Reactive Bay Reservoir - 5.25

At the mo they are not in the case..

The Rad and the Res are sat on top of the case and the pump is hanging down.

I need to make 2 120mm holes in the top of the case so that I can install the RAD and the res can go back into the 5.25" slot and the pump will live at the bottom..

Does this help

Epi's recommended setup is very good. I'll probably go down the Asetek's waterchill route myself for GPU cooling - one thing I found with the hydor L30 and the Enheim 1250 + range of pumps, they tend to make a dreadful vibrating din that doesnt go away unless you are very picky with placement, or you use some foam or something to absorb it. I would rather have silence over peformance so this would be important for me. The Asetek waterchill is a nice little setup - it's easy to install and because it uses smaller tubing than the other providers its a lot easier to squeeze into a PC65 or similar sized case.

Phil is right.. The L30 pump I have does vibrate but I do have it on a foam mat which cuts the noise down..

The MCW50-T has a 80w pelt.. I started off with a waterchill CPU & VGA block and was very happy with them both.. I have since moved off them and have a Mk2 ST from Phil :) and a MCW50-T for my 9800XT.

I am however looking to put a 156w Pelt with a DD Maze4

a 120.3 is going to be better but it depends if you can fit it into your case..

Yeah i reckon you'll be o.k to stick watercooling in there.....if your willing to cut a 120mm hole in the top to mount a rad :D

I'd planned to do that anyway, got a 120mm fan and Thermochill 120.1 waiting.

By the time I get the GT, the X800 XT will be out, so I'll be longing for one of those as well!

I managed to fit my Asetek kit in the PC65 so you should have no probs mate. If you look at my Mach1 pic you may be able to see that it was a bit of a squeeze but if you mount the rad at the top of the case as suggested you'l be fine. Recently gone to cooling the GPU myself, changing everything for DD stuff and getting a 120:2 rad.

Hope that helps a little

New cooling liquid

Anybody tried the InertX PF 5080 perfluorocarbon in place of water in a cooling rig? Costs about £50 to fill a system (unless your res is a swimming pool) and won't conduct electricity. I've only seen it at Armari.com

sw

yeah Ive seen it, waste of money IMO, same heat transfer as water.

Doesn't conduct electricity, but neither does pure DI water (impurities conduct), if you get a spill with DI I would find it unlikely anything will go bang m8. the one time in the years Ive been watercooling I had a leak all that happened was the gfx froze, cleaned up & rebooted no problem.

I had a serious leak the first time i ever used watercooling and the three leaks sprayed water everywhere over the internals. Luckily I was using DI water - no problem at all :)
