gpu compatability

Could do with a bit of input on this one.

Would a intel LGA775 Q6600 and a asus P5N-e sli motherboard hold back an asus gtx 560 ti direct CUII?

at a guess i would say that this would probably perform alright. your processor is a bit outta date but i can hardly talk.

i'm assuming you want to use this for gaming?

if so provided you have enough ram and using win 7 then woulda thought it would be fine.

I wouldn't spend anymore if it was me though, unless you are thinking of upgrading ur MB and CPU in the near future.

I think it'll be okay mate. As long as the Q6600 is overclocked, at stock it will probably hold the 560 back.

The old Q6600 benches the ""same"" (in very obvious quotes) as an i5 660, spookily enough from the name.

Decent memory and a nice fsb, and you should be laughing.

In fact, for gaming, I'd go out on a limb and say stock speeds would even be fine. Be a shame not to oc it tho.

P5N-e.... don't wanna know much about that.

Good point Rast, the Nvidia N-force boards are rubbish at overclocking Quads. You might just about get 3Ghz out of it.

Do you mean for the old intel boards or all nforce?

I have an asus M4N98EVO AM3 board and it use's Nforce 980 chip and i OC just fine. had 4.2ghz stable and could of gone higher on my 955 all be it hotter than i like.
