Got my new ultrabook!!

So I have been in need of a new laptop, frankly I did not care what I got but I did have a few options in my criteria. It had to be an i5 or i7 and touch screen. I was looking at ASUS, Acer, Dell, Sony, and finally Lenovo. My budget was $2000 so my options were vast. They all had there ups and downs but I was really eyeballing Lenovo. As many know Lenovo is a VERY reputable brand that has always made durable and fast notebooks.

The S230u Twist from Lenovo really caught my eye. It has the iconic nub (Which is incredible BTW) and its own multi touch track pad and of course the touch screen which twists to turn the ultrabook into a tablet.

I got the i5 model with 4gb 1333 RAM, and a 500gb SATA 3 7200RPM drive. I replaced the HDD with a 500gb Intel series SSD. My boot time is 5 seconds from a off state.

A few perks this offers and why I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an ultrabook:

1. VERY durable. This Ultrabook used gorilla glass, 5 finger detection, spill proof keyboard, and a ultra durable swivel hinge.

2. Ivy bridge i5 with HD 4000 DX11 graphics with 512mb vRAM. This is actually capable of playing L4D2 at 1366x768 and mid to high settings at 60FPS. And believe it or not it will play Skyrim at 1366x768 at mid to low settings with texture mods at 30FPS.

3. Screen. Yes the screen is not full 1080p but the 1366x768 display is magnificent, better than a lot of 1920x1080 displays I have seen on ultrabooks.

4. This is loaded with physical features. It offers 2 USB 3.0, Mini display port, and mini HDMI. Gigabit Ethernet, Blue tooth, 24gb SSD which is partitioned with the OEM recovery and 7gb of cache function. This laptop also has an empty mini PCI which can be used as a WAN card slot which can be added for another $160 for either Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and ATT.

I am in the networking field and programming routers and switches can be a pain in the ass without a little computer. And with its swivel function I can set up topologies and show clients.

This is what Windows 8 was designed for. It has desktop mode for when you are using the keyboard, and turns into a laptop for the metro interface.

I hope I inspired those looking for a new laptop and for those who are skeptical about the Ultrabook line.

THIS IS AWESOME!!
