Good set of headphones with mic

Hi there,

I have been using a £25 creative fatality headset for a while now but would like to upgrade.

I listen to a lot of music so I want great sound out of the headset, but the reason I want to upgrade is actually because of long skype calls.

The creative headset sits on top of the ears and starts to hurt after about 2 hours, so I was looking for an over ear headset.

Now I have been searching for good headsets in the region of about £160 pounds but there are no really good music listening headsets available with a microphone attached.

Do any of you know of a good headset with mic, or would it be better to just buy a headset without a mic and use a separate mic instead?

I will have a look into that one, thanks!

I have no idea what that anime is, I simply picked it out of a selection of backgrounds because I thought it looked cool haha!

Edit: I have been looking at the HD650 which is a bit more expensive than the budget I have set, do you by any chance know how the PC 360 compares to the HD650?

I forgot to mention my soundcard is the asus xonar essence STX, I'm looking for 'audiophile' headphones.

I still haven't found a 'audiophile' grade headphone with a microphone.

I think I'm leaning towards a Sennheiser HD-650 in combination with a standalone microphone or a webcam with a good microphone.

I just got my ATH m50's shipped in on monday and I can say they surpass alot of headphones I've tried and I haven't even gotten my soundcard yet. I doubt there is any audiophile headphone with a mic but a desk mic works just fine I personally use earbud mic and have it run through my shirt and sit at my collar for chat I'm not sure how great the 650's will be for chat as they are a very open headhpone meaning they will leak alot of sound so your friend may complain of echo however they would be a very good choice for music and games.

If your looking for good audio and a mic the best way to go about it would be to do some research on http://www.head-fi.org they have a lot of resources for finding good headphones at any price point. once you have a set of headphones that suites your needs get on of these http://www.modmic.com/, that way you will get a set of headphones with good quality sound and a mic.

There arent many Audiophile level headphones with a microphone. TBH you might want to as you have already suggested, Getting a good pair of headphones and a seperate microphone ;]
