Hi guys,

Just wanted to get your opinion on how my overclock is looking now that it's run in prime95 for 8 hours with no errors at 4.5ghz.

i currently have my bios set to 1.3 volts i seem to idle at around 1.33 volts and after gaming/prime my max appears to have been 1.38 volts.

my multi-level load-line calibration is set to level 6 and all other voltages are left to auto.

Also intel turbo and all other necessary things have been disabled

let me know if this is correct and whether these voltage readings seem correct??

Temps tend to be around 59-69 load and 40-46 idle

thanks in advance

What have you overclocked your CPU to?

Considering your cooler and your overclock, the temperatures look well within the safe limits. Your idle temperatures do seem a tad high, but they don't really matter. How hot does your room get?

room can get quite warm to be honest. is 41-45 idle going to be ok for 24-7 OC idle. also i've noticed that one core is always at around the 44-45 mark wheras the others are more consistant at 39-42 also one core is always cooler than the others :/

all this said i have run the overclock at 8 hours on prime with no errors so based on your opinion it's safe right?

One thing that has confused me however is why does my voltage never seem to be 1.3 despite it being set to that in bios. gaming it is generally at 1.37 and idle 1.33 i don't understand this :S

The idle temperatures do not matter. It is the load temperatures that really matter and from what you've said they look good considering the idle temperature. It is normal to see a temperature difference in the cores and many people consider ~10 C difference in the cores to be acceptable. The reason for the difference would be the application of thermal paste on the CPU or the placement of the heat sink. Judging by your temperatures the heat sink seems fine, so it seems that the application of the thermal paste is the reason for the temperature differences. You will rarely see the CPU core temperatures being equal and so a slight difference in temperatures is nothing to worry about.

I think the voltage fluctuation is to do with load line calibration if I remember correctly. The motherboard adjusts the voltage according to the speed the processor is running at. So when idling, the cpu would not require as much voltage, which is why you see 1.33 and at load 1.37.

As long as the CPU is stable and the temperatures are not too high then you have nothing to worry about.

i have load line calibration set to ultra high and a manual vcore of 1.3V and mine always says 1.3V no matter what im doing? wether it be at 1600mhz or 4.6mhz?

I don't know what options to enable the processor to underclock when idle and only overclock when under laod. As for my vcore it is manually set to 1.3 not auto hence why i find it weird that default appears to be 1.33. However if it's stable it's stable and i dont wanna mess that up
