Going to order a rig, wheres best?

Hi there!

Been out of the game for 10 years now but have decided to come back now prices and performance seem good.

Been trawling different sites to build me a custom pc (considered trying myself but decided against it) and theres only 1 site where the prices are "reasonable" the rest just seem ridiculous!

So after my search no here didnt come up with much I put it to you;

Wheres the best sites to build me a custom pc. Must be UK based!

hi mate, I was in the same boat as you recently mate and had a frankly horrid experience with ocuk. I then ordered with scan and i'm very happy. (my 2nd full rig i bought from them)

great price! very little more than doing it yourself,

theyre during sales and after sales support is outstanding, never known anything like it.

I think I can budget for more than the yoyo rig above but thanks for the link.

Does it make sense to wait until late January to buy for price drop reasons?

yeah I just dont think im competent enough to do it, as much as id like to. I done a load of reading about a year ago about building a rig but stuff has moved on so much, im really struggling to catch up and take it all in.

for the money im spending I dont wanna knack it up by buying an incompatible part or not be able to put it together.

Its just all too scary these days.
 
Well, there is plenty of very able people on the forums here who I'm sure will be happy to advise you on what to purchase and may even be able to help advise you on how to build it.

There are a few good articles on how to build a PC that I still refer to to make sure I havent missed vital bits (Like putting the CPU in....*doh*)

If nobody objects, there's a back issue of Custom PC (I forget the issue number) and also numerous guides on numerous forums!

You'll also save a reasonable amount of cash!

What's the budget you're looking to spend, and whereabouts in the world are you? =)
 
Theres very little chance of 'knacking' it up if you follow basic instructions.

Its pretty much the same building a system this year, as it was last year. You'll get better value for money doing it yourself.

Im in the Durham/Sunderland/Newcastle area and my budget is about £1000, maybe a wee bit more if needed.
 
I recommend Scan if you want to get a full rig ready built. Some very nice systems.

But you would seriously save money by building yourself. ;)
 
obviously we cant put a monetary saving figure as it depends what I buy, so in percentage terms what do you think I would save? 10%?
 
I live in middlebrough.. So i could help you build it if you want lol.. For £1000 you could build a KICK ass machine.. Or buy a pretty good one..
