There isn't much difference between those two boards just go with the one that has the features you need.

people moan about Asus's RMA service but I have heard just as much bad about Gigabyte's than I have about Asus. It's the same old thing when people have a bad experience with a manufacturer, all of a sudden that manufacturer becomes the worst manufacturer in the world and all their products are s***

i have to agree

when board blew up taking out 90% of my pc i was not happy and felt like going round the net/telling friends about how rubbish they were and never to buy their stuff but lets face it poor workmanship and a bad component are two very different things. from what i understand most of the time its a component on the board that fails rather than the whole board being at fault and when a company is buying millions of caps, chokes and other parts at a time its understand that one or two of them might fail/have failed already.

no matter what make the part is its just luck as to if you get a good board or not bit like when you buy a cpu its etheir a good overclocker or not so good

Gigabyte tbh and I haven't experienced their z68 mobos. I just know it's going to be a good experience.

.. however I have experienced the Asus ones and x79 ones, and dealt with their services.

I'd buy an Asus component like a graphic card or sound card, where you can fall back on amd/nvidia/creative/whatever. But no mobos for me.

Personal preference through experience. Still doesn't stop mates buying them cos of the mega-fantastic reviews they get, and coming crying to me afterwards.

I have the GAZ68X-UD4 B3 and love it its a sweet tempered board without any major flaws oc's sweetly and is all black

stuck between ud3r vs ud4 i don't see any real difference between these two beside the extra $30-40 for ud4. how does ud3r run?

I have the amd version of the UD3, I doubt there would be any major differences really. They look a bit different and that's about it I reckon but I may be wrong
