Gigabyte APP Center/EasyTune

In the process of uninstalling this piece of software something must have happened and traces of it remain although not that I can physically see just an option in the removing programs section in Windows.

The point is I would like to reinstall the software to control my fan noise but when I try the install wizard starts and I get a list of options - Modify, Remove, or Repair. None of them work because I assume there is nothing on the system to perform any of these tasks.

How do I delete or erase the file/files within Windows so the installation program will actually think no previous installation took place?

Can you not control fans from the BIOS mate?

Easy tune is.... crap on a good day!

I have tried but the options it gives me don't slow the case fans down enough. The current setting is Silent although I'm a bit of a silence freak.

If I switch to manual, the lowest PWM doesn't slow them down anymore than Silent mode seems to.

I suppose I probably shouldn't have installed 4 green LED case fans (as it's a green themed rig)

I'm pleased with it though!

Easy tune is a big steamy pile of poo poo, I've yet to see it work correctly even with Gigabyte hardware. As for uninstalling it you should be able to remove it all with CCleaners uninstaller then run the Registry fix.

To be honest that's why I uninstalled it in the first place. It is however the only piece of software I've found that did actually let me control each fan independently. I might have another little play around with it.

I shall install CCleaner, thanks! :)

I did download Speedfan and tried to alter the fan settings but nothing happens. I thought I had to set the fan control to Manual in the BIOS for it to work but still nothing happened?

When I used Google for some help it said on a forum if that was the case find a setting in the Configure/Advanced tab but the option wasn't there when I checked so I gave up.

You can't control fans from the bios the only way to alter fans in the bios is with Speedstep (Intel) or Cool & Quiet (AMD) but all that does it switch between throttling and full speed, if you want total fan control you'll need a dedicated physical fan controller.

If Speedfan doesn't work for you you can try MSI afterburner.

I've had a little play this afternoon and discovered that most of the fan noise was coming from my CPU cooler. As a result I've turned down the fans quite considerably on my Corsair H75 and it is a lot quieter.

Currently keep an eye on the temperatures to see if I can take them down any further.

For fans the only real options for silence you have are manual reducers, or a fan controller... software for fans over 3-pin/4-pin is usually quite crap :)
