good day forum members:

ive been strugling with my attempted OC for a week now (im fairly new to it all yet very intrested)

My current OC witch is stable is as follows

CPU: 3.8 Ghz @ 200 x 19

Ram: 1600Mhz Rated speeds

UncoreClock: 3200 (double of ram if im correct)

LLC: Full Calibration

CPU Volt: 1.250 V

CPU PLL: Left @ auto since im not to sure about that particular setting, someone want to explain me that perhaps?

QPI/DRAM: 1.225 V

DramBus: 1.65 V (rated)

IOH: Auto

ICH: Auto

My attempted 4.0 ghz OC is as follows

CPU: 4.0 Ghz @ 200 x 20

Ram: 1600Mhz Rated speeds

UncoreClock: 3200 (double of ram if im correct)

LLC: Full Calibration

CPU Volt: 1.3 V and 1.325 V

CPU PLL: Left @ auto since im not to sure about that particular setting, someone want to explain me that perhaps?

QPI/DRAM: 1.225 V and 1.250 V

DramBus: 1.65 V (rated)

IOH: Auto

ICH: Auto

Tried upping the QPI and CPU Volts, but kept getting errors in Prime95 ( hardware fault thingy, wich i dont have @ 3.8)

i would appreciate it if someone could give me some insight in what i may have been overlooking or been doing wrong

thx on advance

CPU Volt: 1.3 V and 1.325 V...1.28v-1.32v

Thx will give it a try, so it could be just that becuz ive left my Pll voltage at auto, it was getting to less of juice?

Yes,that and qpi/vtt also a bit low.need 1.3-1.36v.

and the reasoning behind that is?

i OC'd as follows,

1) Separate Memory and CPU speed itself from my BCLK by lowering the multipliers

2)trying to find the highest possible BCLK wich was 200 ( for Easy stepping) playing with the QPI/Dram to get it stable

3)matched my memory to their Rated speeds when i had found my 200BCLK stable playing with the Vram to get it stable

4) then finally finding my highest actual ghz , 3.8Ghz i got stable Playing with the Vcore / cpu Volts only, not adjusting the QPI/Dram

so im starting to think there is more to it then just adjusting the Qpi/Dram and Vcore to get stable

thats where im a little bit confused since i hadnt had to adjust PLL to get so far

But what role does PLL actually play
