Hey guys
I have been meaning to create an account here for quite some time, and now that i have. Hi!
Here's a few pictures of the rig(idk if i can call it that) that i run currently, although in the next week ill be upgrading to an Msi 580 Lightning extreme( for bf3 ofcourse). The old girl 8600 has lasted me a great solid almost 4 years now, and shes getting quite tired. A corsair hx1050 is arriving aswell because the 400 watter wont suffice.
To accommodate the 580 i had to remove the HDD rack, which meant that i had to mount my hdd's in the 5.25' drive bays, although i could only find screws to put one in. The 250gb is the one hanging below. Since there weren't any hard drives for the front fan in the case to cool i took it off and used a hair band to attach it to the 8600. My temps have lowered around 10 degrees C at idle. I haven't tested it when loaded though. Also please forgive me for the atrocious cable management, theres nothing i can really do.
To help alleviate the heat issues when i put the 580 in the case im gonna take the fan from the 8600 and use it as an exhaust below the card near the PCI slots at the rear of the case.I recently bought 8Gb of g.skill sniper ram, after watching TTL's review on it. They are a fantastic kit btw. Although since i'm running a H67 MB ive had to downclock it to 1333mhz, although i suspect i wouldnt see any real difference between the speeds.
In terms of upgrades apart from the GPU and PSU, i plan to save up for SB-E, and in a few months upgrade the case to the CM Storm Trooper.
Anyway thats about it. I look forward to being part of your forums and if you need any help with android (i used to do alot of stuff on xda) then i hopefully can help you out.
Cheers
