No that PSU will not work with Haswell systems. Yes it's enough, but Seasonic have rated it as "no support for haswell" which the 5820k is. You will need a new psu for that rig.
Well that doesn't mean it whont work it just doesn't support haswells low power states meaning that the computer may shutdown when not in use or in sleep mode disableing low power states will stop that from happening.
You can get by with it if on a tight budget and upgrade the psu later on.
I've found an XFX 600w PSU that's within budget if I drop one of the memory sticks. I can then get it in a couple of weeks when my wages come in. I'm sure the system will be okay with 8gb of memory for a couple of weeks.
On the other hand, the 4790k with an ASUS Z97 Pro gamer board is an interesting choice, will save some money and I can get an M.2 SSD, but it won't support the awesome x4 32gb/s, just x2 10b/s.
LMAO sorry. I was super tired when replying. I meant you should have gone with an 1155 socket ivy bridge as that was before 1150 haswell. But as said above, it could work but I wouldn't risk it. It's up to you though. Just would have to disable power states such as C6.

No need to apologise, I really appreciate the help.
Anyway I've made my decision now and I'm just going to focus on gaming and save a few quid. The Asus Z97 Pro gamer is definitely the board I want, just love how cheap it is and it has a lot of what I'm looking for. I think DDR4 can wait for now. The processor will be the 4790K and with the money saved I can get the Plextor PX-G256M6e M.2 PCIe which I'm really itching to see in action.
I would like to ask how to disable C6 power state? I'm willing to risk it.... (famous last words....?!?!?)
To disable any of the C states you need to go into the BIOS and do it there. Should be in the Power Savings area of the BIOS. It's in different places for every brand so I can't really help you there as i have MSI.
