Can you guys help me find a really nice gaming keyboard. I would like one like the Razer Lycosa keyboard, simple, illuminated kayboard, media functions. I did read a few reviews about it and they weren't that good.

What is your buget ?

G15 from Logitech is very nice

I use the logitech g15 and its got all the features you said a screen you can have info on like cpu temps etc

I'm not after anything that's fancy at all. I didn't want to go as high as the G15.

Was thinking maybe the Steelseries Zboard. Anyone got one?

Go for the logitech G110, I have one and it has a bunch of illumination options, some macro keys and all the multimedia settings minus the lcd screen. Very happy with it.

I just bought a saitek cyborg v5 and its great!

I recommend you go to Pissy Werld and have a play with some of their display models. Always better to see it in real life. Then you can order it elsewhere online XD.

£5 keysonic ultra low noise from scan

job done

screens? i have my monitor for that

illimated keys? switch a lamp on

i spent £60 on a g15 and my mate spily beer on it,after that i have used cheap ones and IMO they are just as fine

Al tho i am also using very cheap keyboards now.. was getting a bit expensive...

I really like my saitek. Most comfortable keyboard I've had, but I use it for coding as I do very little gaming.

Tried a razer Arcosa and Lycosa and hated the feel of them.

There are far too many reasons that Saitek are not good.

I had the Eclipse III. I got it for the lights and figured at the price I paid (over £40) that it should be good.

The bottom keys were too small, especially the space bar. The wrist rest was too small and I constantly got RSI. The build quality was absolutely awful and would never hold a torch to a Logitech or Microsoft keyboard. I don't know about the other Razers but the Reclusa is built like a brick sh*t house.

Within a week of owning the Saitek the spacebar began to wobble and got jammed if you didn't press it dead center. Which meant even more arching my wrists which meant they didn't even make contact with the pathetically small rest. The RSI was so bad I could not move my fingers after a couple of hours. the other keys were also too small, just really annoying and fiddly.

And woe betide you if it goes wrong. I have had three friends try to RMA with Saitek. Hint - don't bother. They will just waste your time and you'll never get them to accept it back. And all three died with the same problems. The controller inside the keyboard went due to poor electronics and half of the keyboard stopped working.

If I had never used another gaming keyboard then I would probably like the Eclipse III. As it stands all three of the boards I have now totally kick it into mush. Those include -

Alienware TACTX board (rebranded Logitech with pretty lights)

Microsoft Alienware keyboard (about 6 years old)

Microsoft/Razer Reclusa.

Reclusa was £17.99 delivered. Alienware was £45 delivered on a one day special on Dell last year and the martian red M$ one was $9.99 del on Ebay USA a few years back.

I just used a G110 in a build I did for a friend. Pretty nice and I liked the illuminated keys.

That said, I paid $10 for my black simple USB keyboard almost 6 years ago. Still going strong

Thank you guys for the input. As of Saitek, yes they are shit. My brother had one and it went. They keys stopped working or if they did work they would act as a totally different key. So no thank you to Saitek. I don't want to really go above £30 really cause they are just stupid prices above that for what you get.... but I will pop down to Pissy Werld and have a look around there.

Would just like to say, awesome community and great help

That's exactly what happens. It's down to the terribly made USB key controller. All it takes is one resistor to go and it's game over.

It wouldn't be so bad if Saitek were even so much as approachable. But they're not.

Does anyone have the Steelseries Zboard or the SC2 Limited Edition one? I want to know what they're like and no real reviews anywhere.
