im posting this here because seams the best place for a build i have never completed.

12/28/2011 3:10pm CST PC Specs:

Intel I7 860 @ 2.80GHz

EVGA P55 FTW 200

nVIDIA GTX 280 Reviwer Card

4GB of ram

Silverstone ST1500

i got most my parts in my brothers will when he passed away. i been having stability issues till recently. i had reviewer gtx 280s in sli. i had lot of crashing problems or even blue screens. my speakers failed recently and i did a test of going to a single 280. now its been 2 days and hasn't given me any big problems id say it still only working about 92% but way better then it was. my brother was a beta tester and pushed his components far for testing. im wondering if my psu and cpu's are faulty from when he was a beta tester. so my question is should i consider a single evga 580 classified air or a EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2Win with a corsair ax1200 to try and extend my PC life???

i plan to do a benchmark and post the results after its done. but im not sure what i need to do to fix my pc just try repairing my p55 or going to a z68 platform. just living on $738 disability a month is my biggest catch so im at a total lost how to repair/finish my build. advice be nice.

P.S. this will be my build home thread now that i found the appropriate section.

here is the promised benchmark results as of today

Are these GPUs review samples or was he truly testing beta equipment? Reviewer =/= beta tester.

Have you updated all drivers? Are your voltage rails where they are supposed to be? Is everything running stock? How are your temps? Are you getting the stability issues when everything is at load or do you have the issues even when idle? Have you tried a clean install of Windows?

Personally, I wouldn't replace your board with another 1156 board. From your other thread, we all pretty much agreed that you should move to 1155 (Z68). The problem is you need to really find out what is going on. Throwing new expensive cards, new PSUs, and a whole new platform into the mix may not solve your problems.

im using a oem style cooler by silverstone. i want to find out if getting a h100 will help. here are my idle temps here. all i know is my psu is a modular silverstone ST1500. my psu cables are dual 8-pin mobo, 24-pin mobo, molex mobo, 1 pcie, 1 sata cable powering 5 hdd and single bluray drive. sata cable has 3 sata ports, my 4 hot swap bays are powered by a 1 into 4 corsair adapter. as for gpu they where pre release sent to my brother directly from nvidia, he did testing on them to help develop card drivers. when it crashes has a blue screen and says dumping memory, so no idea what causes it im thinking its my main board ram or psu

these pictures are my system at idle and playing my weakest game called SecondLife.

my pc is stablized alot i found only crash i gave is gpu intces stuff now so it got to be my gpu power supply issue. so i guss i can save my p55 with a new gpu and psu

well bc been running 48 hours now roughly and no crashes, so i guess its was ether a bad psu which been in a bad wiring situation and lighting. because other card works fin in a test rig. so im thinking it was the psu, now i need a new psu lol maby ill get a corsair ax850 or ax1200. way gpus needing so much power like the evga 580 3gb classified i may go with a 1200. these repairs are way cheaper then doing a rebuild.

well i just had the day from hell. had to send my tv back my cable box broke, and my computer caught fire. yep after band aiding it together since September 2010 it finally gave out. i knew it was coming but wasn't sure when. now i have to rebuild somehow. im think to avoid problems with repairs i need to do a LGA 2011 (X79) build. i spent all day trying to figure out the best build for for my budget i think i came up with something but its not complete and would like opinions.

ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor

CORSAIR H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

those are parts im thinking they good all around parts that can do the gaming and media work i do. i do need a new keyboard and mouse too. my keyboard went down with pc. mouse was still good so gave it to my mom. im thinking the corsair k90 and m90nbe good set or maybe a Logitech Bluetooth set.

i want to find best bang for buck i can get since i only have $200 to put into it each month. saving would be very hard in my situation with no way to get a savings account and the idea of cash in a safe seams risky for theft. im debating buying 1 piece at a time due to these factors.
