Sorry if this is under the wrong section, But Im having a few weird issues with my pc.
I downgraded from windows 8 to windows 7 fresh install every thing is updated of course, when I try to play games the games either slow down and the pc turns off than back on or the game starts black screen than does the same thing when the computer restarts I get a message saying the issue was blue screen.
2 games so far that cause the issue is black ops 2 and dirt 3

Im unsure if this is software or hardware issue.
just before I installed windows 7 and running windows 8 every thing was fine.

My specs are
i5 3450 (turbo boost turned off)
ssd
gtx 660 2gb zotac (none ti)
h60 with 1 fan
24gb ram 1600mhz
380 watt antec psu bronce certificate
No hard drives or optical drives and no pc fans (Before some ones mentions heat issue case is a test bench also ran furmark had gpu at 100% and pc was fine did not turn off or over heat)

Iv doubled check psu calculaotors and it says my system
at 100% load will run on a 345 watts

Any help??

Typo? Surely you mean you upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 7? I'm confused... ;)

Seriously though, that sounds like a strange problem. I don't suppose you could try redoing the OS install? Have you been able to search online for the BSOD error code you received? If worst comes to worst, is it possible to try reinstall Windows 8 and then see if the problem is solved?

The PSU calculators aren't always 100% accurate, and 380W does sound quite low, and it's only slightly above what the calculators said. Though when it worked fine on Windows 8 it's probably not the PSU, unless Windows 7 uses more power which I'd be a bit skeptical of to be honest.

i would buy a higher wattage psu. i wouldn't dream or running those specs on a 380w.

when using a psu calculator i would always add at least 100w to be certain i have enough!

Have a look into your crash dumps and windows events to see what it is that's crashing out. It could be a dodgy driver install.

Yeah that PSU is not enough. Get something like a Corsair CX500(M) or higher.

I don't agree. Some calculators also tell you that you need way more than you actually need. Just don't use PSU calculators is my advice.

What I do find weird though, is that you never had this problem under Windows 8? Or did you not game on Windows 8?

Looking into your PSU it looks like it only delivers ~334W on the 12V rails and that card apparently draws ~202W on load with the CPU rated at ~91W on load. Looks to me like you could be stretching the PSU.

to specify my process is to look up the recommended wattage for the parts i buy, then consult a psu calculator for confirmation. i usually give extra wattage for upgrade room, and i always prefer to have too much wattage than too little wattage.

Cheers guys for the help.
error code is BCCODE 116 looking it up folk are saying its a graohics issue reinstall drivers ect ect..give that a bash.

Ill save up some pennies and upgrade the psu just incase

Ok I installed my 650 watt dark power pro gold rated ran resident evil 5 bench mark and same issue

Futuremark still runs fine with GPU at 100% or was that back on Windows 8?

Any bios updates available?
Tried with less ram?
Tried with ram downclocked a bit?
Driver sweeper may help, but unlikely

That's all I've got, sorry

Google how to debug that mini dump and it will tell you which driver crashed out, most probably your gpu drivers. Did you say that you've reinstalled?

Got it sorted, was just the gpu drivers conflicting with windows 7..after a few hours I reinstalled windows 8 and all the problems went away no more crashing,

but I do admit you guys have got me thinking about my psu

id change that psu big time ive got a 3570k on a asrock z77 mobo one ssd and a 7950 I worked out im pulling 355 watts I don't use anything less then a 650 watt psu your psu is so close to its limits the fan must be working over time
