On the grapevine:

Next generation XBox to use AMD.

Nintendo using Tegra for DS.

(did have a bunch of links ready, but IE keeps locking on them)

well both 360 and PS3 have said there on a 10 year life cycle. There what, 4-5 years through it. I cant see them making deicisions on the cpu 5 odd years before they intend to release.

Yes it does, though that doesn't necessarily follow the next one will.

ATI are supposed to have secured the contact already though.

IIRC they're slated for a 2012 release, no doubt MS will be 14 days ahead of schedule and Sony 14 months behind, again

I like how nobody's mentioned Nintendo...

I think it is more of a 2014 since 3D gaming is supposedly the next big thing in gaming.

They will be waiting for 3D TVs to become the norm.

like the wii? its 99% the same as a gamecube inside =\

EDIT: not a ds >_> a gamecube even

Nintendo have their own agenda tbh and it is nothing like MS and Sony. Should be interesting to see what they come out with, especially against the other two's 'physical control' systems

Nintendo also have an almost guaranteed market for their creations, something Sony have been trying to tap into. But even so, it would seem u could give Nintendo a bunch of components a few generations old and they'd come up with something that the consumer wants on a large scale.

Been reading up and i cant seem to find some of the facts you guys point to. like ATI having got the contract....might just be my googling skills.
