Rooting is similar to overclocking as it is always good although can cause unstbility
And tbh I would say a very large amount of people buying an S3 would root it
Ah so it's not all rosey. As I said before I have no interest in phones so I wouldn't know/care.
A large amount of people will root it, yes, but only because of the volume of sale. Most people that buy android phones will fall into two camps:
-not tech-savvy enough to do it
-doesn't care about it/ have time/inclination to research it
I get the feeling I'm offending the android enthusiasts but you guys need to take your android goggles off and put my interaction design monocle on.
-I dropped my iphone 3gs in the toilet (lol) and needed a replacement.
-Everyone was raving about the S3, I checked the specs, looked at the features, I can write a bit of java so I thought I might try my hand at making an app some time etcetc
-The phone turned out to not play music properly, ever. (OOTB experience), I couldn't find a decent music app.
-The usability of the phone when typing in landscape (I always text in landscape) absolutely
infuriates me.
-All I want to do on my phone
now is text and call people. Every time I text I hit the context menu button with the inside of my knuckle several times and end up insert smileys/sounds files/viewing contacts etcetc.
