Nice XMS! You're a BIOS posting machine! :worship:

Hehe :)

Once i've covered all the major Nvidia ones, i'll go and do some ATI ones.

...And then, i'll start modding some of these bioses for increased voltage and mildly increase the core/mem speeds.

U mod BIOS's?

OOoooh, make me a custom one PLZZZZZ! :worship: :worship: :worship:

I just need a voltage increase and a slight core/mem speed increase. I think the voltage increase would help me the most though.

Yeah sure. If you give me a copy of your BIOS (i'll have to find out what the backup tool is called), i'll bump up the voltage on it. If you wanna let me know what speeds to set the clocks at, i can get that done too, so there is no need for overclocking software for your card nemore :D

My 6800GT is currently BIOS modded up to 420mhz Core / 1.2ghz Mem with a 0.1v increase.

Can you use the one you listed on the eVGA BIOS thread to start with? I'm not sure which BIOS version I'm using now....

It's the eVGA 6800 GT PCI-E.

If you could give it a voltage bump and put the stock clock settings to 400/1050 that'd be righteous :D I can then overclock it further from there.

Thx XMS, u da man! That could be exactly what I need to blow my old 3dmark score out of the water.

Do you know how to make those "blind" bios flash disks in case it fucks up? hehe... I don't want to hafta replace another vid card, lol.

Yeah, if you don't have a spare PCI card, i'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to put together a boot disk with batch file that automatically reverts to original flash.

but u might still wanna make a backup of the flash thats on your card at the moment, incase the one i use is dud.

k i'll do that when I get home pronto... shall I just use nvflash?

Yeah, and keep it somewhere safe ;) I remember killing my brand new TNT2 with a BIOS flash from hell!

rgr, i had to spend an hour in traffic last night to get to Office Depot so I could buy a pack of floppy disks  I couldn't find any of my old NVRAID disks or old 3.5" floppies ANYWHERE. Talk about piss me off!

Hi to all ;)

I have a Gainward PowerPack!Ultra/2600 AGP, is this the latest bios?

Gainward GeForce 6800 Ultra BIOS

Card :

Chipset : NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra

Version : 5.40.02.15.12

Memory : 256MB

Do you think that's more stable than other?

At the end do you think that's a good idea flash it?

Thank's for all, nice site.

Bye ;)

Wow this thread is old..

These BIOS' are normaly for tweaking. Overclocking, unlocking, voltage control, fan speeds etc can be set through them. Theres no need to flash to the latest bios on a video card really, enless there is a major flaw.

Hi all

i'm new here so hello all

sorry for dragging this thread up(always handy though)

I was given an agp version of the gainward 6800gt 256mgs,the one with the huge metal cage and dual fans ontop!

high performance blar blar:)

whats the general pro's and cons of this card?(is it fast? and what have you been thrashing it with?:)

what shader version etc

right i was given this card that once installed and i startup all i can see is minimal text or colours.

blocky and screw`d up

you can barly make a few letters from the ident screen(card ident) when the monitor flashes on i see green matrix type stuff(hard to describe)

when in windows i can make more out but again not enough to do anything about it..

could this card be fried(overclocked too far)and would the bios from the top of the page help if i flash it (gw 6800gtgs256mgs etc)if thats the one!

any help please!!!!:)

cheers

steve
