G.skill TridentX

Hey guys,

Bit of advice,

Got some G.skill tridentx and the heat sink fell off during a house move. It was "safely" installed in the PC at the time and only happened after placing the PC on the floor during setting it up.

Basically the thermal pad has lost its stickiness what's the best replacement material I can get to do the job?

I guessed some 100 x 20 x 0.5 thermal pad or tape but just being over cautious.

Disappointed with G.Skill Customer Service, who simply sent me a Generic warranty reply

Thanks in advance.

Sorry but could you post what G.Skill said in their reply? As this sort of issue should be covered by them, and these modules come with lifetime warranty if I remember correctly.

There exact replay as follows:

"Dear Customer,

And the heat sink simply fell off due to losing adhesion on the thermal tape.

Had a second reply basically telling me the same in a polite personal fashion.
Very disappointed with G.Skill!!

So if its possible to recommend me some thermal tape/pads I would be grateful!

they are about 120 x 20 mm and I guess the thinner the better?
