FX-62 not cold bugged ???

Just luck of deciding what memory controllers AMD think are most suitable. :) There was me thinking there would be totally new memory controllers for the DDR2. I bet coldbugged steppings WILL appear though

The B2 FX60 memory controller on my CPU does not stop me benching at 3.52ghz, with the extra tweaks available on the DFI motherboard I doubt it makes that much difference - having the fully adjustable multiplier helps though.

I can understand why Opteron users get so frustrated though, one of the pitfalls I guess.

You have no idea!!! :D I break 3GHz for the first time with one tho, kinda made up for it :)

For the price of an FX, i`d expect the best RAM performance possible, but the speed should partly make up for it.

Wait...heres a question.... if a B2 (for example) memory controller couldnt pass 260 under phase due to coldbug...and the new HTT baseline is either 333 or 400...would the coldbugged CPUs just not boot at all??

I cant answer your question.

I can tell you that using the 250mhz setting in the DRAM section of teh DFI BIOS makes a massive difference to performance - the ram is actually running faster than the cpu and it's great - also you can use the x5 multiplier in the LDT settings so you get max bandwidth.

My HT bus speed is 218x5 which is pretty darn quick ;)
