with all the news of Nvidia's up coming release of there 700 series, i heard a lil about a rumor that AMD were going to release the 9000 series. not sure if this puts that rumor to bed or not, what do you folks think?

The 8xxx series comes the end of this year with a brand new architecture supposedly. Don't think the 9xxx series is due till the end of next year.

i heard they were skipping the 8000 an going straight to the 9000 (i think mainly due to the 8000 oem stuff)

Haven't heard anything about that, makes sense after the OEM branding though. Why they did that in the first place i'll never know.

I sounds like a rumor to me , there's still no new news on AMD's new line of graphics cards. Until I see a official release of anything from AMD , I'm not believing any rumors.
