Fujitsu has announced that they believe they can increase capacity of hard drives to 5TB/inch2 some time in the not to distant future. Check out the newsfor more information.

Don't forget to tell us what you think below...

who cares about teh size, people can just buy a few 500gb hd's, they need to focus on making the hard drives more stable and reliable, who would want to lose their stuff on that 5TB hd..

Thats a very good point darkorb! Seriously, what neeeds 5TB of data on 1 drive anymore???

like seriously, u can buy many hard drives, but u cant make them stable urself, cool temps won't cut it. the manufacturers need to just work with the quality of the products, this could also be said for many other things too

sry kinda off topic but, amd/intel and their quad/8 core chips that their coming out with

why dont u work on ur 2dual more, and make them perfect. like 45nm dual cores, not 8 core cpu-s, give the software guys some more time..

Exactly, bigger isnt always better. Hell i still have a 200gig as my max. If i get another HD it will be between 200-300 tops. Who needs 5tb? Also, another guy on another forum brought the fact that they need to make the hardware itself faster. You might have a bus of 3gb/s (SATA) but your drive still can only go at 80mb/s. So your making the hole bigger, but your not making the data take up that whole space. Or w/e analogy he used. Speeding up the HD or making a new HD technology would be more sufficient than making more space.

Jeeeeez! So we can rejoice in the fact that we've all got quad core CPU's, GPU's that match their speed and still wait 2 minutes+ for our fave games to load. On top of that we're gonna have to book a 2 week holiday so we can defrag the bast:rolleyes:

Way to go Fujitsu.

Only in the porn industry does "size really matter".

WE WANT SPEED, WE WANT SPEED!!!

this does have it's advantages, just not for our market, enterprise market maybe.

I agree with you all, we need faster hard drives/interface
