hey the 1st rant in the rant forum may as well make it a good 1 :)

stupid MS with their eva craching programs

in IE go to google or a linux site it crashes

outlook delets all gmail emails

i cant email my gmail account using my hotmail 1 reliably

now they have updated the msn protocol my Kopete (linux) MSN Messenger Client as stopped working ;

half of my windows experience(9x kernels) has been that of a blue screen

edit they added a remote procedure call system in windows xp so that crackers/worms can shut ma pc down / execute progs from where they are

Yep. Sooo At the moment Xp is running perfectly but sometihng is getting on my nervs. after a long time online the PC Becomes SLOOOOWER and SLOOOWER.

otherwise i dont think Windows is that bad.

eva use 9x i wanted to kill ma pc so many times yea u hafta reinstall windows every few months to keep its performance up

I use a little freeware program called FreeRAM XP Pro, you can download it here

FreeRAM XP Pro enables you to free up and defragment your PC's RAM. FreeRAM XP Pro will free up wasted memory which occurs when software fails to manage it correctly, this will help improve system performance and stability. Hope you find it as useful as I do :)

Never have I used an OS that crashes so much.

Never have i known a software developer punish you for adding new hardware (please call Microwankers to re-activate)

Listen you wankers at the big blue...you are capable of making decent programs cause I know some ex MS programmers program Linux....so pull your fingers out of your corporate arses and make us a decent OS! :mad:
 
pwn me if you will, but i have to say that despite the bad air around Microsoft, lately i think they have been taking steps in the right direction....

* Never have i had a crash on WinXP that was windows fault (mainly overclocking or bad drivers)

* Windows only has so many holes because it is the OS. I'd like to see how linux would fair if it had 90% market domination and millions of hackers trying to break it every day.

* Any system has to balance up accessability with security, and Windows (as it has a large n00b base is slanted towards accessability). This means that some services may be venerable to attack.

* I know MS are shitters for stealing other companies ideas, but if we think like this, then every other company that has made a walkman are shitters because they stole the idea from Sony....
 
I'd have to say that most hackers are aimed at linux servers most of the time because large corporations and web hosts know that linux is the only way to go. Luckily linux does a great job of keeping them out :D

Its firewalls that protect companies from attacks, not so much linux. Granted Apache is the most secure Web server, but this can be used on Windows as well, and when people do tests to find out what OS a server is running, they will normally look at HTTP headers, and if its Apache, then make the asumption that the server is on linux, when infact its running windows+apache.

I used to use a 'Secure' version of linux on my servers, and i subscribed to their security mailing list. No joke, every day i'd get about 5-6 e-mails about security holes in pacakges like glib and other crap like that.....it really isn't that much better.

But it really is! lol... The security patches sent out everyday (yes I used to get them too when I was running RH) weren't huge security flaws like when MS realeases patches. RH was always in the game to continually make linux a safer computer environment, if they spotted a potential loophole, or found room for improvement then they did the smart thing and fixed before someone could possibly take advantage of it.

MS on the other hand relies on HUGE security errors (which there are a lot of, im sure they spend most of there time fixing those) rather than patching other potential loop holes yet to be exploited.

I dunno, i'm done ranting, I hate MS!

ROFL....so why are you using Windows then?

I had 5 Windows 2003 servers running with only the standard XP style firewall turned on for 2 years without a single problem. Ports are the problem...firewall the ports, get rid of the risk.

Just because you rely on food, doesnt mean you have to go to a restaurant that gives you the shits every day, when there is another restaurant down the road that may take a bit longer to travel to, and may not do the food you like on their menu - but could be trained to make your favorite dishes.

Anyway...i'm just arguing for the sake of it now. ROFL.. ;)
