Ultimate Xp Distro

Hey Guys im makin IMO the ultimate XP Pro Distro :)

I would like some input on it ;

Please post ur sata drives (or email em to my gmail) which is simply joeraff (attach gmail shit there) ill integrate them to the distro so ya dont need the SATA install disk and they if ya can proove to me u have XP PRO ill make the iso available to u  (eg scan COA)

will be reomving IE and mayB the core (but this is required for activation so ill use the corporate edition which doesnt require activation -- as an OEM i have access to em)

im gonna leave WMP in there as its wat i use (also love amarok but windows cant use it :p ) outlook express will be repaced wit Thunderbird and MayB ill be able to suply the latest NV and ATi drivers (may take up too much space tho) also for ur guys version ill integrate a F@H service install but you have to edit ur config after the install for ur prefs (be default they will be for r team and user as 'EDIT UR DAMN CONFIG FILE' (or sai_jao lol)

EDIT NOTE:

For sata driver integration i *may* need to know the hardware Ids for ur SATA device (your drivers may carry em ill look first) but if they dont then go to Device Manager get the properties of your SATA controller then go to the Details tab and scroll the lokup tables till u find the hardware IDs label (or similar) and i need to know the exact model of Sata controller you have (i will get the latest drivers from the manufacturer ot if you could supply these i would be very grateful)

If I understood that then I might be able to help.....do you have to have SATA?

i edited the post re read - basically im integratin as many SATA drivers as possible so u guys dont need to have a SATA floppy round for the install process; and ill send the final iso to ya if u can prove u have XP PRO

just send me the contents of ur SATA floppy and ill integrate

ps dunno when this distro will be ready ... im quite lazy and busy

One thing i'll say is: leave the ATI/Nvidia drivers out of the install.

They are updated so regulary that its not worth it.

Seconded.

Glad you re-typed it - understand now. I don't have a COA, but I have a valid licence key that I use for Pro (I bought it from Dell and the buggers gave me a re-registered one so they then e-mailed me a new liscence key that I run fine). So how can I prove that? :o

I'll get on the SATA case when I'm home. I thank-you!!

Yeah sure it would be nice to have them there ready to go. I'm just a little concerned about the lenghty procedure required to remove Nvidia drivers before installing new ones.

Anyway, its your baby, so i'll let u decide the best thing :D

XMS is right mate - let the user decide on their own AGP drivers....they're not that big to DL and they get updated a lot. Plus a lot of people are using the 66.93 drivers to keep the temp problem with the 71.84's from affecting them.....in other words nice idea, but not too much point!! :o

Maybe u could stick the 'Girls Of SX' wallpapers on there, and set sysxtreme.com as the homepage :)

That would be slick :D
