Just picked 'em up from work. No idea if they work or what. But worst case is i get 2 free sight glasses and have to take a trip to the dump.

Now going to clean them and will report back later.

Well its now freezing cold and bucketing down with rain so i locked up for the night. Stupid lank of heating in the workshops... But there a fair bit cleaner.

Bit of research (mostly involving reading the label) shows ive got 2 l'unite hemi compressors:

CAJ 4461 Y, 18cc 1/2hp. According to the spec sheet can hold 1120w @ 0°

And a

CAE 4440 Y, 12cc 3/8hp. Hoping it will shape up to be like the NF11L

Ive never seen so many spiders in one place, dead and alive (99% of them were dead by the end). But they were sat out the back of the shop for at least a year and a half. However everything has been sealed properly so fingers crossed.

Tomorrow ill break out the DMM and get testing the electronics before i plug anything in.

Large one has cleaned up ok, smaller i still need to strip down to clean properly still. Looks ok though.







Whilst un-doing a flare on the smaller i found there was gas left in it, hence the manifold being hooked up. I prey it was nitrogen...

Gas could have been the refridgerent that was in it before. Ive drained it now, there was very little in there.

Simple: i wont!

Prelim tests on the 18cc lookign good. Leccys are in good order, and the compressor pulls the low down and high up. Currently vaccing it.

They are for phase change cooling.. Condensers and stuff.

In short they make things bloody cold.

Officaly they're condensing units. They turn gas into liquid. These two were taken form air-conditioning units.

I've drained the oil form the 18cc, thats as far as i got. I hate to think what start its in now...

(compressor oil goes acidic if left open)
