FREE and easy way to clean your storage

okay here goes

1...on the desktop, right-click and selct New->Folder...call it "delete me last", and the open it (by double-clicking)

2...in that folder create another folder and call it "copies"

3...copy ALOT of harmless photos and/or videos into "copies" (the larger - the better)

now for the clever bit...

this will fill up your HDD with clones of these "copies" folders.

doing so will overwrite anything that was previously on the HDD.

1...select the folder called "copies" and right-click on it.

2...click copy

3...somewhere underneath the folder called "copies", right-click again

4...this time click paste

you should now have two folders "copies" and "copies - copy"

5...select all folders

6...right-click and select copy

7... right-click anywhere off those selected folders and click paste

8... repeat from 5

continue doing this until the PC says it has run out of space

now, hightlight "delete me last" on the desktop

hold down shift and then press the DELETE key

you will be asked to permenantly delete it - say YES

voila! all done - clean PC

easy and FREE

I use DansGuardian DBAN to wipe drives, but sometimes resort to more traditional methods.

DansGuardian is not free, is it?

and.. the only real way to physically deleted data, from any storage medium, is to completely overwrite it with some totally different data. (TrueCrypt doesn't do that)

Yeah, DansGuardian is free, but totally the wrong product. DansGuardian is for web filtering.

What I really meant was DBAN, and that's free too.

Regular Mountain Dew ftw. Too bad we only have the Energy version in the UK. I have only tasted the normal one whilst on holiday

my fam did a trek across the states this year. buddy i am telling you i came home diabetic. i walked in to walmart straight to the soda section and it was like

i was in a shopping centre in preston a few weeks back and there was a stall called the new york candy company selling all sorts of american product. needless to say i was

. after striking up a small convo about my history with the dew from childhood i discovered they have like 5 stalls scattered about the manc area. so if your about that are look out for them
