FPS games on consoles??

I'm really not sure if fps games are as good on consoles as they are on a pc.

I've been trying to get around being able to aim+move on resistance2 as well as I would on cs:s on my pc.

It's just not happening tho.

I know I'm probably just getting frustrated but it's like someone has cut off a limb without a mouse :(

I customised my controls and that helped a lot but I still find myself playing the game and thinking why am I bothering when I could play 10x better on a pc with any type of keyboard/mouse  :(

I think I might just keep FPS to the PC (altho being on a console where people aren't cheating is more appealing than on a PC where there are loads).

Does anyone have any tips?

or should I just give up on competitive fps on consoles and stick to the pc?

Its all about emmersion. If your not "feeling" the game your controls wont be as fast, as accurate or remotely right. If YOU are in the game, you feel your heart going the visions are yours and everything disappears. When totally emmersed you wont care how ham fisted you are really because your fighting for your life.

Unfortunately emmersion has very little to do with you bar your state of mind, the rest is how well the game is made. Too many cut scenes is a big posh game developer thing and ruins it because you begin to feel isolated from the game.

Also the problem of consoles is they don't have as many buttons so they have to compromise and inevitable fail so create inteligent controls (i know i do it in programs to help dumbasses). Its not as fun if you have to be within 5m to whip your knife out for a stab as you cant jump of a wall and scream down the mic "DEATH FROM ABOVE!"

I used to hate FPS on consoles but now I'm used to the controls I am quite into them. I love being able to sit back on the couch and play games nowadays too

You do need to be patient and get 1/2 decent at stick gaming

lol.

No a PS3 cannot use a m/kb.

Only for browsing and what-not.

I used to play FPS' on PC a LOT more than on consoles.

And then if you suddenly play on consoles again, it al feels awkward.

Keep trying and trying until you get used to it.

;);)

I personaly never like fps such as unreal tournament etc the controls don't work for me pc is miles better in my opinion.

I might give it a bit more time.

I am playing thru resistance2 atm.

I have the sensitivity set to 85% and the aim still doesn't feel right :(

U can use kb & mouse on ps3 xbm but not ingame. I think the only fps game that supports the use of them (without an adaptor) is UT3

its like anything new really, you just need pratice. I'm sure you were the same the first time you used a pc.

dont mind me just abit intoxicated but dont lol at me :whack: hehe

i knew some games supported it and i guessed at the mouse bit..i knew MGO allowed keyboards

soooo technically

a ps3 CAN use a m/kb just in different situations :)

I used to have a CoD4 team on X360 and we were something like fourth in the world on the CoD4 4v4 ladder on GameBattles. I quit for 6 months, came back and I can't play for crap.

I'm going to stick with PC now, faster paced gameplay and harder competition.

I agree with you equk but I found I prefer sucking atleast its playing on a lvl playing field, everyone with the same hardware and joypad. what sucks for you is the same for everyone.

There nothing like a good flickshot on css, where you just react faster than you think. I find I can't do this on consoles as I am limited by how fast the stick will move my crosshair. I only play FPS on consoles when their not available on the PC e.g. Halo 3.
