Foxconn Contracted For Apple Tablet

i really hope it lives up to the hype its generated for the last x years. although im sure it will. apple havent had many flops/weak products.

i wantz one, but it says that other oem's are supposed to have similar devices, there are a couple out already but theyre way overpriced, hope this comes out for less than netbook money otherwise the only reason to get one it the touchscreen.

Well you usally pay a premium for Apple products, so it may be pretty expensive. On that note though, they have been lowering prices recently.

I dont know enough about it yet to say if i want one or not. There's a few of these things coming to light recently. The other big one being from microsoft call the curier. Although thats a slight different layout.

Tox dude, think about stuff before posting. Of course Apple are going to contact out stuff! A load of other company's contract out to Foxconn, they're one of the biggest OEM's in the industry.

This could be another killer piece of Apple hardware, if they stack the price up right. This could give Apple's profits another iPhone-like boost!

Who else use Foxconn? I just expected better from Apple. Especially at the prices Apple like to sell things. :(

Thing is, it really does depend on what they market it as. It's not going to be aimed for games they reckon and it's a bit big to be properly portable all the time.

Media maybe? Even if it's slick, I don't know if it'll be worth over £400 - £500.

Foxconn are everywhere mate... Pull open a lot of prebuilt office stuff and they tend to have fans or hs/f's in there as well as the odd motherboard. Compaq / HP used to use them..

Foxconn are the big boys! Look on 99% of motherboards and you'll see a foxconn branded socket or IO connectors, amongst the others mentioned.

Seems like something I should look out for.

If it costs as much as a mid-range lappy then you might as well get the laptop.

A laptop can do many more things.

Didnt foxconn torture one of their employees for reporting a prototype iphone missing?

I seem to remember that was news on a fair few tech sites a while back.
