Apple's AAA gaming push for iPhone appears to have flopped

i didnt even know this was a thing, and I test devices daily :D

Nothing promoted iPhone better than Infinity blade 1,2 and 3 though. This was available to all devices and was demanding in itself. Also I believe it was specifically designed to showcase iphone at the time, in collaboration with Unreal engine.

Its still playable and addicitive to this day, but good luck access it as its removed from the store (licensing I believe)

I didn't even know Ubisoft released this on mobile. I don't have iCrap so there's that...

Ah Infinity Blade. Gosh those games were good. That's a throwback:D

It's crazy to me the kind of money people dump into "F2P" games on mobile. They won't pay to buy a game, but buying skins, currency, weapons etc are fine.

Well the whole concept of Gatcha games is the constant addition of new content. New heros, new gear, etc

Gets users hooked and suddenly the find it hard to stop because of the FOMO situation.

And with it the addiction and debt problems begins…

I don't see the appeal of gaming on a phone at all. I understood it a few years ago when it was just 'mobile games', as in, you gamed while sitting on the train heading to class. But now people are sitting at home gaming on their phones. That makes no sense to me.

makes perfect sense if a game is only available on iOS or Android and not via PC/console. Infinity blade was ahead of its time. Massively addictive, full of secrets and had no MTs.

However, what doesnt make sense is pushing AAA titles to mobile devices like this.
