Forum jump

On alot of different forums they have a forum jump link on the bottom of each page. I was just suggesting that this forum should have one too

I have to now, but id rather just jump to a specific forum by a forum jump because dial up is slow and its just faster that way.

Hehe yea, All we have availible is dial up, Direcway (satelite) and Aircanopy. We cant afford Aircanopy so i have to use dial up.

We should (meaning XMS and Kemp of course) make a dialup version of the site.

The forum jump got taken out for several reasons:

* It didn't fit the skin

* It screwed with a couple of our plugins

* It was very ugly when we put it on on this skin

You can disable avatars and signatures and even pictures I believe

We really do try to get the site as fast as possible for those on dialup (and we've already got compression on the site that makes every file - apart from images - 80% + smaller), but some stuff just don't work

Well its not that the site is going slow, its the fact that i would rather jump to a specific forum instead of clicking the OC3d home, then clickng forum and/or sub forum. It has nothing to do with the site going slow or anything. Its just for ease. If ya cant do it thats cool.

We'll have another look, but we have tried it before and it broke stuff

im confused, are you using this? theyre links and that one takes you straight to the main forums

He wants to be able to go straight to any of the sections, not just the home page

Yea instead of going to the home page, then where ever i want. On dial up thats kinda a slow process. Even if these forums are fast, it still takes a standard amount of time to switch between threads without a forum jump.

Again, he wants to be able to go straight to EVERY single section of the forums, not just the home page. It would be a pita to make a shortcut for every section

What WC is saying. When im ON the forums already and say in this thread i wanna be able to scroll down and click the forum jump and jump to say off topic without having to go to the home site first.
