This patch may not influence single users directly, because added workload is not much for tasks that you would perform on your PC (rendering, gaming, etc) but it may have drastic impact indirectly trough server tasks. When you add a little bit on every task that servers perform in massive quantity it may drasticly reduce their performance. If this is true, manufacturers can be in big problem if centers and servers can't cope with overhead. When big servers start choking it will be bad.
