not quite,

you can copy the files to a different folder and run the setup again (giving it a different machine ID), atleast if we are talking about the uniprocessor client

it might also work with the GPU clients but you will have to specify on which GPU the client should run.

There is also an multiprocessor client called the SMP.

But what exactly are you trying to achieve?

Probably with a different install location but why bother? more than 1 instance per card/cpu wont work/will tank your points.

But if for example you had 4 cards and wanted 2 for team A and 2 for team B then that would work fine.

the client i have is windows cpu client ver 6.23 built nov 26 2008

just thout that if i open it twis i will get twis the work done

Nope that's not how it works, it won't even run twice because of the Machine ID protection, but if you would get it to run it would only do the same work double instead of at double speed. And probably corrupting the WU in the process.

so what you can do is copy the files from your client folder (not the work folder) and run a second client under a differen Machine ID. (one client per real core, so not one per thread). But if you're going for points and folding 24/7 a SMP client will yield much higher PPD.

When the SMP client(s) first came out you could do this (8 cores min) and get a tad more PPD,

but i already thought it wasn't wort it.. so skipped
