Yes....I fully realize that this is a mega-nerdy forum of nerdy awesomesauce, etc etc, but I'm sure that people on here do in fact go to the gym, or would like Nutritional/Lifestyle help/suggestions. I for one go to the gym 4-5 days a week and lift weight and do cardio. It could be a place to give and receive advice on topics such as Nutrition, Exercise, Supplements, etc.

I wouldn't mind. I've got 2 jobs and a kid now plus I'm 40 so I don't get in the gym near as much anymore but Ive been a gym rat over half my life and was a competitive powerlifter for a while (always lost so I quit LOL) so I could throw in some advice on life under the iron.

Def up for seeing this! I'm quite a fitness freak, gym most days and both Thai boxing and circuit training 3 times a week. Would love to help people out where I can and as the OP said I think we'll be surprised how many "computer geeks" such as ourselves workout and lift

I think this would be quite good to chat about techniques, routines and other gymage stuff.

If anyone needs any inspiration the man to talk to is sir dugdiamond as he has achieved some quite dramatic results from his work in the gym

i'd just like to hear what others are doing to give me a boost, i turned 30 2 weeks ago and have said to myself i need to loose 5-6 stone by the time im 31 so its all happening soon for me

i would gladly share my know-how... but fitness has many levels, whether members are just wanting to lose a few kilos/pounds/stone OR they want to get really buff.

LAYMAN'S: it's similar to overclocking... what can be to on one chip may not be able to be done on another...

...and so with someone's natural frame/lifestyle/metabolics/age. :)

this first thing to do is to be honest with yourself. blah blah blah.

i will go more into this if the forum section is born ;)

if it is a "no-go" then PM me, and i will help you as much as i can :D

OC3D will have a fitness section but no peripherals section?

Hold up Ive not said yes yet.

As I said about periphs untill there is enough threads elsewhere in the forums I cant and wont make a forum for it..... Empty forums look bad and are just as bad for stats.

So if you want these forums start making threads.... Quite simple really :)

Well how about for starters we create a thread all writing down our fitness activities in a given week and the kind of results we want to achieve i.e weight loss, fitness, get buff/in shape and from there we can start talking about how we each go about it and find/suggest pointers etc.

So basically:

-Name
-Age
-Height
-Weight (kilos, stone, pounds)
-Approximate Body fat (BF)%
-What is your Goal
-Routine

  • Exercise (Bench Press, Treadmill, etc)
  • Frequency ( 4 days a week)
  • Sets/Reps (If applicable)
-Supplements Taken (Protein, Pre-Worout, etc)

Looks good to me I'll kick things off then!

-Name: Will

-Age: 22

-Height: 5ft 10

-Weight: around 76 kilos at the moment

-Approximate Body fat (BF)%: Couldn't tell ya but I would guess between 8-12%

-What is your Goal: Want to get more muscle size and definition but also increase my fitness (don't want it all for show)

-Routine: I gym at least 4 times a week usually concentrating on a particular body part i.e. I do leg day, arm day, chest day and so on. I realise this isn't actually optimal as it's better to group i.e. chest and tris, back and bis but i've found this works for me in the gym. An example routine might be for chest

* Incline dumbell chest press 32kilo dumbells supersetted with 14-16 kilo flies 8 of each

* Repeat above but flat

* Bear/tree hugs on the cables (keep both arms relatively straight and bring them together in front of you)

* Cable pull downs (on your knees and bring the cables together towards the floor squeezing your chest)

* Machine flies

* maybe finish off with some narrow grip not too heavy bench press on the smith machine.

I also do Muay Thai boxing which i've started recently for my fitness which is fantastic. I do this 4 times a week and the same club does circuit training classes 3 times a week with weights, jumps, sprints all sorts which is really gruelling. One of the local Marines goes (i am at uni in Portsmouth) and he says it's pretty brutal too.

-Supplements Taken: I used to like taking Jack3D pre workout before the gym but it's now been banned coz some idiots were misusing it and basically overdosing. It was potent stuff. Now i just take protein shakes (USN IGF-1) twice a day and add creatine to my shakes.

More importantly i make sure I eat plenty (at least 3 meals a day) and get lots of veg.

That's me done. obv feel free to ask any questions ^_^

Hmmm bummer, nobody into BodyBuilding ?
started a thread but its more related to BB rather then fitness.....

Sorry got it wrong , my bad !

i am sort of into BB-ing, but i do not want to get mahoosive. i do not want to get as big as Greene or Heath - lol

i do not want to bulk either.
people see competitors at their peak and think they are like that all year around. this (we know) is untrue, as being constantly ~5% BF is bad for you.
i wish to be shredded and also be about 10% BF.

i am about 8 months away from my goal, and when i get there i will only train 3 days, instead of 4 days, a week.

i am currently following the abercrombie fitness model methods, with a bit more intensity ;)

Well, BB fits under fitness. Its just something to start with. We can of course expand to diets and sports, etc :)

and already seen some funny replies in the thread you started, so i will keep my replies to the serious forum :p;)
