Not in my eyes,
BodyBuilding is as it says, building your body.. fitness is keeping fit and in shape...

But what you forget is that you cannot be a fat "bodybuilder." Being a bodybuilder means being fit and in the best shape of your life. Being a bodybuilder is on the extreme end of fitness :P Would you not call yourself extremely fit?

Yes I do !

but i still stand by my point, BB is something different then fitness

you'll never see a bodybuilder in a triathlon
you'll never see a triathlete benching 100kg+

Where did triathlons come from? I merely said there are certain similarities between the two, I never said physical. I'm talking mental. Dedication. Hard Work. Sweat. Tears.

Great to see health conscious people who are also into pc's.
Well like me anyway. So some brief background about me, I'm into computers for about 4 years now and started watching my diet/fitness about 9 months ago since when i lost about 20kg and gone from pretty chubby to being pretty slim and although i workout 3 times a week, i'm not that buff or anything although i got my full set of packs hehe :PP

So basically:

-Malcolm
-18
-172cm
-60kg
-About 8-10% body fat
-Weight Maintanance
-A ton of pushups/situps/cardio once a week
A full body workout twice a week which include pushups, situps, benchpress, and other variations just to keep fit no bodybuilding :)
-No Supplements for me, I just try to have a decent intake of protein from chicken/fish/etc and i eat very healthily all around.

Looking forward to see other peoples goals/achievments.

This is a pretty cool thread, it does show that PC guys don't have to be lanky bedroom bound nerds :)

Tri's are my thing (actually, most cardio stuff), but an accident at Alpe d'Huez involving me on my new TT bike and a Mercedes has put things back quite a bit!

All this talk of fitness is making me feel lazy. I used to race XC mountain bikes (tall & thin and light, 6ft6 @10st. Then I had a bad accident where I smashed my tib in the knee and did my cruciate in. After a few months I popped that knee out at a music festival and it has never been right since.

Stopped biking, went to uni, drank lots and ate lots of junk, put on 6 stone in 4 years.....

Slowly loosing it now i'm a poor graduate....

Great "outside the box" sort of idea

I think it would be great! Mind you there's the matter of making sure it doesn't turn this page into a sort of "Men's Health" or "Esquire" kind of ordeal, but physical fitness goes hand in hand with mental fitness in that a healthy mind has a hard time thriving in a not-so-healthy body. I run a mile and a half a day, 3-5 days a week (at about 8 MPH, start to finish), and do some body-weight oriented exercises in between, and I find that it helps keep me in a MUCH better frame of mind and helps me to map things out in my build projects and tech issues MUCH more effectively. I say give it a go, I'd be just as avid a fan of this as the rest of the OC3D page!

The Iron is the best antidepressant I have ever found. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength.
Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it’s impossible to turn back.

Shame it doesn´t fit under my sig anymore :(
