First wc-loop

24/7 Folding need some hefty cooling with i7-950 4.0ghz+,noctua nh-d14 is good enough,but i wanted 4.2-4.4ghz.

Watercooling (proper,not crappy h50-70 or likewise) was the next step.



Boxes with the goodies

The Haf x ,and TT Element S with sidefan.The TT-case after re-sample was cooling better than Haf X

What to be upgaded.



And i noticed i had a badly seated noctua

After that i was paranoid and seated the Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos HF and the EK-nb/sb5 several times.



All fitted and testing for leaks and get rid of airbubbles in the system.



If you watch closely,small air-bubbles

Turned the rig manny times,and got a sore back

,maybe 50 pounds weight whithout sidepanels

System up and running,cable-management isnt done on this picture.Ordered Lamptron fancontroller and got it right after.

Very happy with this rebuild,as temps dropped and i have 4.2ghz@1.344v oc.

Mobo:Gigabyte ud3r rev 2.

Cpu: Intel i7 950 @ 4.2

Ram: Corsair doms 2000c8

Gpu:Gigabyte gtx470 soc

Ssd:Mushkin Callisto deluxe 60gb system

Storage:WD black 1tb sata3

Driveioneer dvd/rw

Case:Cm Haf X,added Nzxt 200mm topfan+Nzxt 140mm rearfan.The Cm-fans installed was shody.

Cpublock:Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos HF

X58-block:EK-nb/sb5

Pump:EK-dcp 4.0 with combo dcp 4.0 reservoir

Hose:Masterkleer 7/16(15,9/11,1mm)

Fittings:1/4bspp (g1/4)-1/2(12mm)

Coolant:Feser One uv-blue

Fans:3x arctic-cooling F12

Fancontroller:Lamptron fc-2

Temps now 4.2@1,344 are 68,63,65,62c and the gtx470soc 55-60c at 70% fan.

Before i had Peaks at 76c at 4.0@1,312

It was definietly worth it then, should stay nice and cool whilst folding and getting those points up

Yes indeed,and when summer maybe i dont have to downclock to much

And i found out,at normal roomtemp(22c),both rigs are whithin same temps.

But when i open the window the wc-rig drops to mid 50c and the noctua only drops to low 60c.

All my wc gear has arrived, just need time to assemble!

Yes there are some issues.I would have 90degree fittings between cpu-block and nb-block,to have a better flow and overall look.And 3 additional 120mm in pull,for better airflow.2x 200mm wont pull effective i think.On the intake side of reservoir i also could have used 90 degree fitting for better overall management.From rad to cpublock some 30 or 60 degree fittings would also have a better fit.This i will do when its time for the other rig to go WC

.And i almost never fitted the rams,as you can see on photo,only 1mm to spare.Rams are sitting higher on the gigabyte mobo and took i measures on the asrock mobo

.Next time i will buy a lian li pc-a70 or 71 if i can affort it,and cut the roof for a 360-420 rad.These 2 cases are "only" 40-50£ more expensive than a haf x,which in my opinion are crap.

I got some 90s for the res, probably should have gotten some angle fittings for the block too. I'm not entirely certain how everything is going to fit yet. I'm only doing CPU for now.

I'm going to put it off until mid-march. I'll be on vacation soon and I want to leave my rig folding while I'm gone. Don't think I would trust a new WC system to that quite yet.
