First watercooling rig, need some advice!

Well you can calculate the difference to a degree.

I just picked a random big radiator right...

So the 360 is: 413,6 x 124 x 60mm = 3,077,184 mm³

and the 420 is: 473 x 142 x 60mm = 4,029,960 mm³

Obviously the same company/manufacturer. The difference is therefore about 31%. This ain't too accurate but it does give you somewhat of an idea how much the performance of the bigger radiator would be. Now that doesn't transmit to the temperatures obviously, but the bigger rad could handle about 20% more load and still keep the same cool temps as the smaller radiator.

This is no where close to accurate since you don't use the same fans. But at least it should give ya an idea. The bigger the radiator the less problems you have cooling your components. And I'd say you should consider going for the big dog just to be safe.

It used to be 240 radiator for the CPU and 240 radiator for each GPU. I don't know if this is still accurate today. But the 360 does feel like it's gonna be alright. The 420 would obviously be better and would have no problems cooling it. However I can't be sure. I've not watercooled SB nor GTX680 to know how much power is actually needed...

And I'd definitely get two of them small pumps.

Alright well then ill just get the two pumps and the 360 rad.

Ill just go for some trial and error and load cpu und gpu mixed and then both with prime and furmark

and see how the temps go with both fully blown.

In the end they both wont be maxed out nearly as hard as they are with prime and furmark, most heat will be generated

with me playing some bf3 and i guess at least the cpu wont run at 100% then.

Ill just get it and see how it goes, if its too warm ill just add another rad for the bottom

Thanks for your thoughts on this !
