First time PC Not displaying.

So i've 'Built' my first rig but i have a problem. with it being my first build im not to confident with my wiring. I've followed a few guides but when i boot up my pc to install the OS my screen remains blank. I haven't installed the MB OS as i was told it wasn't neccessary.

So in short, i've got everything plugged in, i boot the pc with the OS disk in the tray and nothing happens. Any advice for me?

Would the fact that i'm connecting it to my TV via HDMI effect the system?

The Red cable is my optical drive and the black ones are from my ssd and serial drive. Thanks guys!

Im quite new on this forum and to building computers. but ive had a bad experiance displaying with HDMI, you are much better using DVI if possible. you can get a DVI to HDMI cable for a reasonable price if you look around and this will be much more efficiant than a HDMI to HDMI connection.

Got me thinking. Is the TV set to display or prioritise the HDMI input?
