first time custom computer build

Wait what? cant follow, apparently ill have plenty of fps with 1 670, and wasnt gygabite good? whats the pcb then?
The Windforce x3 is a cooler with 3 fans. So that's what 3x stands for.

The PCB is the back of the GPU, like this:

Most people prefer a black pcb, like me.

Yes i had 2500k in my old computer, the rest im just replacing. alright then the gtx670.. out of curiousoty, how much fps should one get on 1900x... on lets say skyrim or crysis 2, with other options enabled to make graphs better, dx11 everything on.

And yass are you happy with the black caviar? had no problems yet whatsoever?
And for optical drive if it doesnt matter alright though i want it to be able to burn cd's for convenience, read and write and all that stuff doesnt have to be blue ray so what do i look for? remember i use pcpartpicker as site to see lowest prices and stuff.

Yes I am happy with my Caviar Black. It was a very good purchase imo :)

Thanks for clearing that up m8. So people had problems with the color ? lol the case is closed no one needs to look at it so.. ah well.
Looks like that baby can be overclocked pretty well with 3 fans like that. thx for the reply

If you get a case with a window then you do see it :P
But I think this card might end up in my upcoming rig as well, if I don't like the PCB I'll buy a GTX 680 backplate :D

Hmm my current thoughts... 120 hz monitor (wich monitor i dont know yet) because 120hz would be smoother in gaming, ips panels are more for non action games it seems and just is more for like.. photoshop or something, movies.. imo gaming is fast paced and you need the 120hz and fast framerates for the game to feel smooth.
So judging by the site seumas send, i think i might go sli 670 then. I just compared 670s to 690 and it seems 690 is about the double of a 670, with that logic if SLI litterly doubles fps, it should be around the same as 690 performance wise.
The other reason for sli 670s then is to get ~100fps on highest settings to really feel smooth when gaming and blow the gamers mind basically.
Just my point of view atm.

Yes, but as more demanding games are released your upgrade cycle would become shorter. You would need to upgrade very quickly if you want to maintain 100+ fps on all games.

i doubt a sli 670 would be outdated so quickly, as for ips, i think with a 670 i might get screen tearing as some games go over 60 fps with even 1 card

I'm not saying they would become outdated. I'm saying it would be difficult to maintain 100+ fps on all upcoming titles.

Well yeah with outdated i mean like what you said. I mean i don't think they will be making MUCH more heavier games, i think they will keep making the games like crysis heavy

ah yes and as for optical drives, i dont think anyone answered this yet but is this a good one?
Sony AD-7261S-0B

question for the t600 case, i see theres a 3.0 usb at the front to connect it there has to be a 3.0 usb on the motherboard, does this motherboard have that? MSI Z77A-GD65 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
