First time build

Hi all

My first build will start soon, probably make a start tonight if I feel upto it.

Some of the parts you may disagree on etc but oh well

some of it came to looks rather than perfomance but I dont think it will make a huge difference to someone like me.

first noob question, the 24 pin cable has a 10 pin coming from it, what is that exactly ?

nerves already kicking in I think

I think your power supply may be modular?, the 24 pin is for the motherboard, the 10 pin on the other end of that will go in your power supply

got that wrong, 24 pin to the mobo fine, the other end is 18 pin + a 10 pin, I assume both these are connected to the PSU ?

is the the 10pin on the same cable as the 18 but just split off

Does this help, there is a 10 pin slot above the 18 pin which is already connected.

Seems like it needs to go in those top inputs ...

nah dont worry about them,if you need whatever is on the end of it then plug it into the PSU,thats just the modualar end fella and there perfectly fine

Looks like the connector for the juice of the CPU...

there hardwired usaly fella.

its sata,6pin or 8pin or both,molex 4pin,flopy power, that are modular

the rest are uslay hardwired

will put that 10 pin hanging out in the 10 pin slot that you cant see in the photo then.

other end - 18 pin + 10 pin ( psu )
