First possible AIO purchase

Hi Guys

Im going to be building a new PC soon and was going to Overclock it for the first time, now ive read a lot of articles that say if you are OC then use an AIO to cool your machine. I want this machine to last around 4-5 years before upgrading but the one thing that worries me with AIO is with it leaking. Has anyone ever had this issue? or what are your thoughts on them? im not going to OC to the max, just a little bit so would an AIO be overkill?

the one i was looking at was Corsair H110i GTX Hydro Cooler

Thanks in advance

I've had my current H100 installed since 2011 and zero problems. Prior to that I had a pump that was very noisy and RMA'd to Corsair no problems.

I've had Corsair H60, H100, 2 x H100i's and none leaked or any problems what so ever.
The reason for so many is simply upgrading over time ^_^

You can't go wrong with an AIO ;)

Look at the ones from Corsair without the link involved Eg H105 or similar from other suppliers as the software from Corsair ATM is crap and it's easier to just set and forget without stuffing around with software that may or may not be compatable with Windows 10

Thanks for the replies,

I guess theres always that worry about mixing electrics with coolant ;) ive read that Corsair give a warranty where if it dos leak they pay for the replacement of the goods affected?

Yes they do, if your case will fit it the H105 is a good cooler I have been running mine for awhile with zero issues only reason i changed was I lost my standoffs for 2011v3

Would also second the H110i GT made by Coolit rather than the H110i GTX made by Asetek, mainly because Asetek have a trigger happy legal team and this is harming the industry as a whole. Performance wise I don't think there's any difference between them.

thanks guys,

i think il take the plunge and get one, watching a few OC3D vids they seem fairly easy to set up? i haven't built a PC in years so i was either going to buy a pre built motherboard bundle or try it myself.

Never had a AIO leak (touch wood) but I have had faulty pumps and many RMA tickets but that was with the early Cooler Master Seidon units, thank fully those are now long gone.

Since then I've had the Corsair H80i, H100i and now the Fractal Kelvin S24, since going AIO I would say I can't go back to air coolers that's not to say they are bad in any way I just prefer the simplicity and cooling of the AIOs.

thanks wraith

I guess its just that i have never experienced AIO's before so always a bit dubious of them and their reliability. howver i want the pc to last around 4-5 years so hopefully these things will last
