I began with a few popular options on this CPU:
I disable turbo core, and all the other downclocking options from my BIOS.
I set the "multiplier" to manual
I went from the default 16x multiplier to 17.5x for a 3.5Ghz overclock, and have been running for about a week now with no problems.
I have a few questions regarding voltage and bus speed:
I wasn't sure of my default voltage, and I thought my 6th core was having issues running, so I bumped it up to 1.4 without proper knowledge of what this could do and my temps flew up toward 45 idle 65 under load. No good. When is the proper time to bump up voltage? What can higher voltages do for my CPU?
And bus speed, what is the difference (performace wise) between bumping up BUS speeds over clock multiplier?
