First ever build - need advice!

I'm not the expert here, but you don't want low pressure bellow that rad. So turn that exhaust fan the other way ;)

Nice build there

@ccaution: Thanks for the input.
I`ve got 3xAF140 intakes, 1 AF140 and 2 SP120´s for exhaust.
This should make for positive intake-pressure, but ill monitor temps to be sure.
If neccesary I have an 120 i can try for rear exhaust. Anyway my rig wont be used for hard OC, if at all. Modest gaming and video-rendering..... for now....

Oh I see. The differences in temps shouldn't be huge either way, but just saying... :)

As far as the "hard OC", your board can take it like a champ and if those 8GB dimms are rev2.XX -which is elpida IC- you could try 1866 11-11-11-30 too, later on down the road.

True - The Asus is total overkill for my needs, but "need" the black/red colour-scheme in the case. Have decided to give all white datails in the case a dip in the "red bath" as well.
Been testing my XFX R7770 over the past few days and have it running stable at 1180/1250 with a very moderate volt-tweak in my stock HP.

Mods and Video

Lates modifications:
Switched to the Asus MaximusV Formula. Corsair AF120 Quiet in the back and bottom.
PSU to be delivered this week - all white interior details at my mates for red paint. :-) (Goal is to try mixing the same red hue as on the fan-rings)
I have also had a lot of pictures taken and planning to do a TTL-style video of the actual build when everything is in the house. Bare in mind - I AM norwegian and even tho my english is decent it isnt flawless AND I`m shooting this with a Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ10 digital compact on a tripod, so quality wont be pro - but I`ll do my best to get decent light and a well planned script for the video.
Hey  This is gonna be a blast!

The Corsair 650D is a bit overkill for somebody that isn't really about performance. I'd get the cheapest case you can since I doubt you'll be doing any watercooling anytime soon.

Woke up on the bad foot? :hello:

First - I have changed the case - if you wanna post critisism, thats ok, but would be nice to see you had your facts straight.
Second - I can afford a nice looking enclosure, and as you can see, opposite to you, I am just fine combining quality components and good design into this build even if its not churning to the max 24/7.
Third - H100i isnt watercooling?
And at last.... as stated this is my first build - amongst other things I wanted it to be a clean nice build that had more than ample performance for my immediate needs, but also had some room for upgrades. We all need to walk before we can sprint, yeah?
I think I pretty much succeded to meet those goals.

H100i is "watercooling" in that it uses liquid to cool the CPU. It is not "watercooling" in that most enthusiasts understand "watercooling" as a custom built closed loop.

Nice build btw. Just make sure to make the cables all tidy when you put it together. Oh, and when you're done, post pics in the Rig Gallery. We want to see. :)

Thks Crion - yeah I know. consider this my first steps into liq-cooling.
Pics & video-link will be up - mid january approx. Thks for the tip on the gallery.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm saying the case is overkill unless you're going to take advantage of what it offers. All Corsair cases offer cooling with the H100 for a lot less money. However, since the 650D is on sale for a great price I think it's worth it. It was around $250 before it went on sale so that's why I was saying it was overkill.

I personally think it's better to get a cheaper case and use the money on the hardware inside.

I hear you.
My usage doesnt demand all that much from the performance side of things and I simply liked the look and functions of the 650D.
In many ways pretty much every part in my build is overkill for my immediate needs and ability to take full advantage of them....
For me, not beeing on a spesific budget, this is a question of personal taste, functionality and that the system has room for upgraded parts as i learn to take full advantage of its performance.

From a snowy Norway - Have a nice Chistmas :beerchug:

Mate when you get done with this build just strap it to your back and walk around town with it. The chicks will flock to you :) Nerd chicks that is :) Nerd chicks are hot though :)

Merry Christmas mate.
