First Custom Rig

you could save a few ££ (about 20) by getting the 1tb caviar black, unless you want 2 500s for a particualr reason that is.

The only other thing I might think about would be the cooling system. the H100 is quite expensive for something that is not very flexible. I'd either save money and get the NH-D14 or go for a basic custom WC kit which you can expand from in the future to include the GPUs (like the xs-pc stuff).

Rest of the kit looks fine to me, if you dont want to hang around and see what happens over the next few months of course

If it were me I would replace the Phantom with the Coolermaster HAF 932 Advanced. It gives you more options in the future including a full fat 360 rad in the roof should you wanna go down that route. I also think that the military styling would really compliment the Sabertooth. The Coolermaster build quality is superior as well. (btw I have a Phantom).

btw if you have 50 posts and have been on the forum for more than 28 days you can get free shipping from Aria. PM RawZ.

(sorry about the lack of direct reply/quote, I'm on the phone)

@m&p

I'm going with the two 500gb caviar blacks to get the raid 0 benefit and I simply don't need a terabyte of storage. And I've already got a 500gb external hard drive just in case

I know this is blasphemy but I simply hate the look of the noctua nh d14, those fans are just fugly. I really can't be dealing with the fuss of a full water cooling kit either. What do you mean by the h100 not being flexible?

The big benefit of the faux Water cooling, however, is that the phantom has a huge fan on the side and the sabertooth is designed to benefit from having a fan blowing into the CPU socket so a conventional tower cooler would block that benefit and stop me even being able to have the side fan. It's a match made in cooling heaven!

@sheroo

The military styling is actually why I like the phantom

it reminds me of the old stealth bombers. I did originally have the haf 922 in my build specs, before I came here, and I'll check out the 932 to see what that's like! But I sincerely doubt I'll ever venture into full water cooling territory, so I'm not really fussed about rad space.

Thanks for the aria tip! That'll come in handy
