First build (Gaming Rig)

I'm planning on build a new gaming rig within the next month. This is my first build and would like any advice on the parts I have choosen, be it good or bad.

The parts are overkill for gaming, but I'd just like to be prepared for anything I could possibly run into down the road. I would like to start learning to OC, so it we be a water cooled build.

Will be playing games like, Crysis 1-2, Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Batman AC, and some MMOs

So here are the parts I've choosen..

Case: I really like the new Corsair Vengeance C70 so think I will be waiting on that to come out, unless anyone else has any other advice?

CPU: I5 3570k

PSU: Corsair AX850 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139015

Motherboard: I really like the Maximus V Gene, but wondering if I should wait for the new formula V, any ideas on this?

Videocard: Thinking with going with this 7970 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814103201 or should i get 2 for Crossfire?

SSD: Corsair Force GT 240 GB x2 in raid 0 for boot drive and a few games http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820233208

HDD: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822136792 For all other storage

Ram:Corsair Vengeance 2133 4GB x2 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822136792

As for as watercooling goes, would 2 240mm rads but sufficient for this set up?

Looks loke a solid build. As for the motherboards, it comes down to whether you want MATX or ATX. Both boards would be great for gaming and OC.

Looks like a solid enough build yeh. If you are going for overkill, why the 3570k and not the 3770k? I know performance wise it doesnt make a lo of difference in gaming but I wouldnt want to spend that much on hardware just to stick an i5 in

I would personally also want a ATX board in there. Not that there's anything wrong with micro, but again with the big hardware and massive card, you dont exactly want the motherboard to look dwarfed in the case.

I'd also stick with 1 7970. It will be sufficient for anything you throw at it one 1 screen (I'm assuming). If you add another, you'd probably have to upgrade PSU, and possibly run into issues with pumps, and maybe even rads on the cooling side, unless you stuck in 2 60mm thick rads and a massive pump, but that may not even fit the case, and would probably increase cost b like £600 just to add another graphics card, which i dont really think is worth it tbh.

Ah that all makes sense, thanks for that advice as I will be using it, and yes i will only be running one screen. Seems that I will be waiting for the formula V

One HD7970 is more then enough for 1 screen.

And the motherboard is kind of small, I would personally get an ATX motherboard like james said. It is better if you decide to add more hardware (space wise and such) ^^

But overall it seems like a great rig

Looking good. I agree with james about going with the 3770k instead of the 3570k.
