Hey guys, my third PC is build is having some trouble posting. I have a seasonic 650w that is emitting a high pitched noise that stops whenever I switch it off or disconnect the power cable from it. It emits an even HIGHER sounding pitch when ever I try to turn on the computer. Any ideas on what it might be?

Try reseating the CPU cooler/heatsink and ram and does your motherboard have an LED display readout? If it does consult your motherboards user manual or check online and lookup the error code displayed on the LED display readout. I know you thought it might be your PSU but usually sounds like that are related to something has not been installed correctly but if it is your PSU, maybe you're overloading it or you need to replace it pronto and soon.

Mobo Problems

I tested all of the components in a seperate machine except for my motherboard and my CPU, so that leads me to believe that the mobo has problems. I will try RMAing it to see if it will work.

I have seated the CPU properly, I know that... everything seems fine with the setting of my 3570k and my H60. Its just the fact that it won't start up when my mobo is in the system.. and it works fine when I have my AMD mobo + CPu in it, too.

Then its probably the mobo then as I cannot think of anything else that could be causing this issue.
Good luck with the RMA mate.
