Finally a new PC.

This is what i would suggest
smile.gif

Thank you for the suggestion. Why the 2500k over 2600k? Wouldn't the 2600k reach a higher clock much more efficiently?

Nope, not at all it just has more threads AFAIK

Okay thank you, I'll go for the i5 then. Hoping rawz@aria will let his go! Tight for cash atm I'll say it once again (THANK YOU VISA!), but I'm defo working for it lol.

Will order P67 Sabertooth and an i5 tomorrow.

Cheers:)

Would try to get the Corsair AX850, the Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold Series 800w or maybe a NZXT HALE90 Series 850W Power Supply. Always nice to have alitle extra juice to go on if you suddenly wanna O.C or go xfire/sli.

Case: The Corsair Carbide 500r/obsidian 650D/graphite 600T. Silverstone Raven RV03 Mid-Tower,Fortress II. Fractal Design(cheap) amd Lian Li has many nice cases also, so you should check all these. Imho the Haf series arent very nice looking cases :-)

Cpu: 2500k or 2600k if u can afford. Bulldozer(19sept in norway) and socket 2011(15 nov)comes soon, so maybe nice to see what they can do before you order anything?

Ram: Mushkin is nice, but also the corsair vengeance(cheap, good oc.) series has scored nicely in tests.

Mobo: Asus Z68 Pro, Deluxe, sabertooth or the mAtx maximus. Gigabyte Ud5 and Ud7 very sweetlooking but those are a bit expencive.

For graphics i would recomend the Gigabyte gtx 560 Ti Soc . In benches the 560Ti Soc scores more or about same as the 570(costs 2/3 of what a 570 usually costs). Run two of these and u beat a 580 easely. If you could afford a higher model i would maybe chose the amd 6970 because they are mutch cheaper then the 580.

Cpu Cooler: Noctua DH14(be sure that the ram isnt to high and gets in the way of the heatsink/fan), Corsair H100(loud at max rpm, but cools good with low noise)or maybe a custom wc(best)

Why would he want a z68, 2600k and 850w PSU??? You can pretty much run 3 560ti's on a 850w with a SB build....

Z68 doesn't really offer anything for the price difference, 2600k is just a waste of money

I've ordered the P67 and 2500k now

. The Carbide looks quite nice, affordable also. Any more suggestions on case?

Good choice with the motherboard and 2500k. I would suggest the corsair obsidian 650d, but I'm assuming you don't want to spend too much on a case if you don't have to.

The Z68 because you can o.c and use the cpu/MB in a htpc later on, without any extra graphics. The Z68 also have Intel smart response technology and LucidLogix Virtu. The 2600k if you want the best, but i didnt say it was necessary did i? It is also very affordable, but you need to ask youreself if you want to pay that extra buck for HT and a few other things. Imho i would have bought the 2600k because im an enthusiast and i use my computer to alot of different things..

I dont agree when you say 3x560's on a 850w.

On your average system the 560 card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit. A second card requires you to add another ~175 Watts. You need a 700+ Watt power supply unit if you use it in a high-end system (800+ to a KiloWatt is recommended if you plan on any overclocking).

Also keep in mind that there are several fabric oc 560's out, that uses more power then a stock 560.

Nice that youre going for the carbide. Im also building a system in the carbide 500r, and its for a colleague of mine. It has a very nice prizetag(70£), but the Norwegian stores dont get it in stock by the start of November.

He said he was on a tight budget

Right guys, another question. I've been looking around at different components and still haven't made up my mind.

Another question:

My hardware so far

MOBO: P67 Sabertooth

CPU: 2500K @ 3.3 using Noctua DH14

RAM: Kingston HyperX 2133 mhz - not too sure about the RAM. What would people suggest differently?

GRAPHICS: Now the main one. I've had my mind set on a 570 GTX, but having read that there is little increase in performance compared to 560ti, which should I get? I will be running 2 of these in the end.

PSU: Still undecided, any suggestions? Someone suggested the Corsair TX 650M, will this be enough to power it @ a high clock and 2 560ti's, also clocked.

Case: STILL VERY UNCERTAIN NOW. I've had a look at the HAF 932 yesterday in person, and it was nice, suitable also... but I'm still not 100%, any other suggestions?

Any help = awesome!

Thank you!

560ti for the money you save it is not worth it buying the 570 if you are on a tight budget, and get a 750 MINIMUM PSU for SLI

I live in denmark, so i can't comment on that but AFAIK you get free shipping from Aria if you have over 50 posts, maybe ask RawZ

I've asked him twice but he never replies

. I've emailed them twice about things (Aria), but with no reply. I understand that they may be busy, but I was hoping for a quick reply, it's been about 4-5 days now. I ended up ordering some stuff elsewhere

, but it was cheaper lol. They do great deals sometimes though.

Got my P67 Sabertooth today
tongue.gif
, looks sexier in real life

. CPU was dispatched yesterday also, hopefully receive that today. eBuyer do really quick deliveries

Going to order the RAM very soon. I see many different types of the HYPERX, which is the best to go for? I'm wanting 4GB worth at the moment. But I will up that to 8 or replace with 4GB modules later on. What should the timings be? I'm wanting to OC my 2500k to near or over 4GHz.

Thank you.

Have you tried aria.co.uk. They have some decent prices on the 560 Ti's. The MSI Twin Frozr II 560 Ti's are going for £180 (20 quid cheaper than overclockers). Scan have it for £197 with a "Free" copy of Batman: Arkham City.

I have personally only used Scan and Overclockers, but that was before I heard about aria pc. I will most likely use aria pc for my next purchase.

EDIT: I found the Galaxy 560 Ti for £167 on dabs.com

Link: Galaxy 560 Ti

It's from the same company that makes the KFA2 GTX 570 that Tom did a review on recently.

I was going to order most of my stuff from there, but the support never replied to my contact form issues nor to direct emails. I ended up ordering elsewhere, and saved around £50 on items.

Just seen they activated my free shipping which is a bonus.

Do you have any suggestions on the RAM?
